Description
1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Factory 4 Speed
If you have been looking for a true Chevelle SS that's a great driver, runs perfect, and needs nothing... this is the car for you!
This is an original1969 Chevelle Malibu SS 396 factory 4 speed car, not just a clone or tribute (run the VIN through Hagerty). It came from the factory back in 1969with option group package RPO Z25(SS 396). It now has a non-original 350 hp L-34 396 engine, which came out of another 1969 Chevelle SS, and is properly date coded and block coded. The motor was completely rebuilt only three years ago, bored out .030 over to 402 cubic inches, and now puts out nearly 500 hp! The transmission is now a Borg Warner Super T-10 4 speed manual, and the 12 bolt rear has Strange 4:11 gears with an Eaton posi unit. The entire engine and drivetrain have only 560 miles on them since the rebuild!
This Chevelle was born as Aztec Silver, but was repainted deep red about 11 years ago. Everything on the car has been redone and done right....exterior, interior, undercarriage, and down to the beautifully detailed engine bay. It goes without saying, but there's not a speck of rust anywhere on this car. The paint shows very well and has a really great shine to it. It's a high driver quality and looks absolutely gorgeous when the sun hits the metallic as it sits on the polished American Racing Hoopster wheels. It does have a few chips and nicks here and there though, from being driven. Most of them aren't even noticeable unless you get right on them, and the car still looks amazingfrom less than 5 feet away. It's the perfect car for taking home trophies from the local car shows and cruise nights, without having to worry about driving it all around town. Take the family andgo anywhere!
As you can see in the photos, the interior is in perfect condition, also being completely redone three years ago with the drivetrain. Everything has been replaced from the headliner to the carpet, from the door panels to the seats. The original dash was replaced with a custom dashand white face gauges, which all work, as do the heat, horn, and all the lights. It has a beautiful mahogany steering wheel, and an aftermarket cd stereo system was added with ipod input, 4 speakers, and a 300W amp. Because the dash and gauges are new, the odometer shows only 560 miles on it, which is what the motor and drivetrain have. The previous odometer however, showed 41k actual miles, which corresponds to the title. In the trunk photos,on the inside of the decklid, you will see a beautiful one-of-a-kind custom madechrome Chevy bowtie, with the SS396 grill badge style logo in the center, and a custom cut carpeted panel surrounding it (see close-up pic). You will be the only one at the car show with it, and you will not see another one anywhere! Here are some more of the specifics of the engine and drivetrain:
- Holley 850 double pumper carburetor
- Edelbrock air gap intake manifold
- Keith Black pistons 30 over - 10.5 to 1 compression

I'm sure I have forgotten a lot of new parts and upgrades, as this car has tons of goodies. No expense was spared, and this vehicle has over 50k invested into it! I have receipts for everything done to it in the past 3 years. Check the value on Hagerty.com... they have the average value at $38,200 with an additional 15% for 4 speed manual, bringing the total value to $43,930 and that's for condition #3 and without all my expensive upgrades ! Plus unlike many other collector cars, the values of these cars haven't gone down at all in the past 5 years. In fact they have consistently gone steadily up. Not like some cars which rose quickly, and then the bottom dropped out, and they fell even quicker, and now they're worth less than they were bought for. With over 50k invested 3 years ago, there's no way you could build this car todayfor anything near what my asking price is. So no low ballers... butmake your reasonable offer and the best one will be accepted. The car will go! But don't hesitate, this car is a great buy, is priced to sell, and will go fast! Always garaged, and never taken out in the rain. I havethe clear title in hand.I have many more pictures, and if you'd like more info, or a video of the car running or driving, or have any questions, please contact me through ebay, by email at Ftum34@aol.com, or by phone at (917)838-4597. My name is Frank. Thank you.
