1994 Chevrolet G30 Van
Description
PLEASE READ EVERYTHING!This is 100% a G30 NOT a G20. But ebay's Dumb list doesn't have a G30 in it so had to go with G20This van is a very long time project of mine, I've spent a lot of money on it.It's a 1994 Chevy G30 one ton van with the 4.3 Vortec V6And 4L60e transmission.
The engine in this van was professionally rebuilt at an engine rebuild shop in Bangor Maine a year ago and it literally has less than 50 miles on it, it's basically brand new. This cost $1000List of brand new parts on this van within the last year and it hasn't been driven more than 10 miles since all this:
Rebuilt engineNew starterNew full distributorThrottle position sensorMAF sensorEGR valveEngine temp sensorIdle control valveReplacement steering wheel1 hubcapNew batteryAll new rear brakesTransmission rebuiltAll new shift solenoids and filter in transFresh trans oilFresh engine oil and filterNew air filterNew fuel pumpFuel filterNew plugs and wires2 brand new wheel rims included extraI have 2 boxes of various parts and manuals etc I'll include with it also and 2 brand new wheel rims
I'm sure there's more but I can't think right now.I was fully restoring the van to be a mini camper that myWife and could take across the country. It was a fire Dept vehicle out of Florida before I got it. The lights etc had been removed and I found these and was doing a restoration to make it look like it did in the fire Dept again. It has almost no rust whatsoever underneath, it's super solid. It will pass a Maine state inspection with no trouble at all, but it may need a set of tires they're getting pretty crappy. It's in real good shape apart from that, it has a full heavy duty tow package and heavy rear bumper. It is well used though, paint is rough inside and out. I was going to paint the whole thing.
Even though this van runs perfect and smooth, as you would expect from an essentially brand new motor, it has some weird issue that I've torn my hair out trying to figure out and thrown money at it and now I'm done!I guarantee it's something minor because I've pretty much replaced everything it could be.The motor starts and runs perfect, it shifts strong and drives. However as the motor warms up to temp, the van then starts to splutter and bog down and won't shift right anymore, it's almost like it wants to shift the wrong way. Like it starts off in top gear and wants to go down as you accelerate instead of up.I'm almost certain it's the engine computer, I think it's faulty. And since it's pretty much the only thing I haven't replaced then I'm thinking it's that. But I don't know for sure and I'm done messing with it. I don't want emails telling me it's this or that, I am selling it as is.you can't drive the van home. It will start, drive and stop good. But it shifts weird and bogs down once warmed up.
Other minor issues:The sliding door has rust in the very bottom.I drilled a 1 inch hole in the exhaust trying to see if it was blocked and causing motor to bog.It needs tiresThe trans drain plug drips fluid very lightlyPower steering line leaks very occasionallyObviously it's dinged and scratched all over I was going to paint it.Radio doesn't work.
This is a great deal for a van of this condition, I've got the asking price just in parts and the motor.Call me for more details:207-747-9829BETWEEN 08:00 - 20:00 ONLY!
