This 1946 Chevrolet pickup pays tribute to the hot-rod tricks of the 50’s, and combines great stance, reliability, and exceptional road-manners into one easy to own package. With less than 200 miles since a mechanical refresh and odometer reset, this 1946 Chevrolet Pickup was first rebuilt in 2013, and had undergone an extensive frame off-restoration prior to be sold to the previous owner. That owner used it as a regular show car and Sunday-Funday driver here at his Florida home for over 4 years, and only decided to part with it to pursue an RV lifestyle. It is a fantastic driving truck, and the all the upgrades and changes to it were carefully thought out so as to be similar to what someone might have done in 1950’s when “hot-rodding” a vehicle. The green and black exterior finish is still beautiful to look at, and only shows typical minor blemishes from being driven and enjoyed. Some stone chips, scuffs, running board marks, and other normal-use blemishes simply show that the truck was driven and enjoyed, and all of the marks tend to add to the character and charm of the truck. Body is solid and clean, and is all steel from front to back. Check out the 150 photos, and you will see that this is a solid, show-ready pickup that turns heads like a Supermodel when it drives by. Panel fit and finish is very good, and the doors don’t rattle, the tailgate isn’t loose, and the hood doesn’t flap when it is shut. Lettering and striping on the truck is all hand-painted, and shows wonderfully. The custom-made wood bed rails are finished in a beautiful sealer and color, and the lettering on them is hand painted as well. It reads “Chevy’s best for ’46 Running America’s highways!” Chrome, stainless, and assorted bright work pieces are all in exceptionally good condition, with no signs of any damage or disrepair. Most parts still show like new, and the grill is the centerpiece with a gleaming acre of chrome teeth! The interior was completely overhauled with new cabin paint, Dynamat throughout, hidden battery cut-off switch, custom door and kick panels, and fully refurbished gauge cluster. A new Rubber mat covers the floor, and the seat is completely redone with all new springs, padding, and covering. Everything appears to be working as it should throughout the truck, and the glove box and liner are all intact too. Shift lever has a Tiki vibe wrap on it, and is topped with a killer Top Fuel bronzed look shift knob. All of the glass is in fault-free condition, and shows no cracking or chips, but there is some laminate bubbling on the base of the passenger and driver side windows. Window seals, door seals, and weather-stripping all are in amazing condition. The custom-built 235ci stove-bolt 6-cylinder engine is fit with a Fenton manifold feeding a custom-made exhaust, dual single barrel carbs, and an HEI distributor. It purrs like a sewing machine when you drive it, and has plenty of off-the-line power to make daily driving a breeze! It is fully capable of 65 mph cruising speeds thanks to the rebuilt transmission and rear end with highway friendly gearing, and I recently drove it about 25 miles on the freeway with NO issues other than making sure all the people trying to take pictures of the truck didn't hit me! Stance is awesome, and is achieved by a 3" drop front axle by Sid's and rear leveling blocks. New slider-style leaf springs were installed with new shocks, and it gives the truck a nice and smooth ride while giving it a perfect look. Disc brakes were added to the front, along with a steering stabilizer bar to keep handling and steering tight and sure. An updated bed wood kit and stainless polished strapping and hardware complete the look, even the tailgate chains and sleeves still show like new. The extra-wide whitewall tires are a perfect fit to the truck, and they look great on the painted steel wheels with poverty caps that feature the Chevrolet branding. Chassis finish is still neat and clean, and you can sense the newness of most of the components. There is no sign of any rust or issues on the underside either, and it presents very well! Mechanically, functionally, and electrically everything does what it should. Brakes stop without any odd pulling or chatter. Engine performs wonderfully throughout the entire power band. Steering is solid and sure. Headlamps, marker lamps, and turn signals all work as they should. It does not need anything at this time to be a fun and reliable addition to your collection!
