1982 was a milestone year for Chevrolet’s Camaro. Marking the introduction of the third generation Camaro, its all-new design emerged from the studio as sleek, sporty, and sexy car that would become an automotive icon in the 80s. With looks, handling, and muscle, it was no wonder it was named Motor Trend magazine’s “Car of the Year” and paced the Indianapolis 500.
This absolutely stunning 1982 Camaro Z28 sport coupe is virtually in showroom condition. Finished in Maroon Metallic and featuring Silver ground effects with Orange and Red racing stripes, this eye-catching and rare color combination is striking. Its newer finish gleams and appears as it did the day it left the factory. Also contributing to its sporty look are its rear spoiler, functional front air dam, and aluminum wheels. Its optional removable glass roof panels, dual exhaust, and raised white letter tires complete the look.
The interior is equally sporty, featuring a leather-wrapped steering wheel and Maroon bucket seats and a center console that will surround you like a cockpit. A rare option, this Camaro features a multi-adjustable “contour” driver seat made for Chevrolet by LearSiegler. It was only available on Z28s. Another feature is its electric quartz clock, handily mounted in the center console. Its full array of optional factory gauges will keep you informed about what’s going on under the hood. Heavily equipped from the factory, you will also appreciate this car’s long list of optional features, including the following:
All options work as they should, including this car’s ice-cold air conditioning.
Under the hood you will find a 350 CID V-8 Mr. Goodwrench crate motor mated to the original, rebuilt, automatic transmission. This power setup provides the best of both worlds for Camaro lovers—the power of a Corvette in a Camaro package. The original, optional 165 HP 305 CID V-8 engine is also available (please inquire for details). Its power steering and power front disc brakes will keep you firmly in control on those twisty two-lanes. Having 91,900 original miles on the body, but less than 10,000 miles on the powertrain, this Z28 runs and drives as well as it looks.
Originally sold from Mike Flannery Chevrolet of Englewood, Colorado, this Z28 has been in the same family for the past 15 years, and has always received the best of care. Any parts needing replacement were replaced with NOS parts. Included with sale is the build sheet, and a reproduction of the original window sticker.
If an iconic and well optioned third generation Camaro in show winning condition is what you desire, look no further than this stunning 1982 Z28.
