The hood and doors open and close correctly. The engine compartment is beautifully detailed. You can see the time that went into this truck when you inspect the firewall especially. The interior showcases custom two-tone cloth & vinyl upholstery over the factory bench seating. These trucks would be Chevrolet's first major re-design post World War II. During this entire production run, Chevrolet trucks would be number one in sales in the USA. This truck displays a host of restoration work along with original charm. Open the doors to 1952. Closer inspection of the paint and body will reveal a solid truck with some imperfections. The overall finish is excellent. The body is very straight. Weatherstripping was replaced during therestoration. The fender welting has been replaced. In 1952, you could have one of two available six cylinder engines. When you opted for the stout 3-speed manual transmission, you received this 216 cube mill factory rated at 95 horsepower. The engine compartment is in excellent condition, displaying the beautifully detailed engine, firewall, and inner fenders. This powerplant retains many correct components and runs smooth. The 3-speed manual transmission shifts easy as well and the clutch grips strong. The steering and brakes feel good too. The wood bed is in excellent condition as is the bed, inside and out. The dash displays functional factory gauges along with the original radio. This pushbutton Deluxe AM Radio is not working. There are some minor imperfections here and there. There is surface rust showing under the carpeting, but appears solid underneath. The dash paint is showing some age, more of a patina, intact throughout. The undercarriage is in good condition. The engine and transmission undersides are clean and the differential shows well as does the cab and bed undersides. The flooring is intact throughout. There is some rusting underneath the carpeting, but overall solid. The spare tire/wheel is mounted under the bed. The cowl ventilation door is functional as is the driver's side cowl door. This would be the final year of this pull-down door handle design. The following model year pickup trucks would utilize a pushbutton and pull handle. The wheels of choice on this light duty 1/2 ton truck are the factory 16-inch steel wheels fitted with 6.5-16 Firestone Deluxe Champion poly-bias tires all around. Chevrolet beauty caps adorn the centers along with a trim ring around the exterior.
