Description

Less than 500 miles on this build. Car was a bit of a basket case when I bought it.
1972 Corvette convertible in targa blue with matching blue interior.Factory AC car, PS, PB, power windows.Originally a 4 speed L code 350.White soft top factory hard top in blue.Tilt / tele column.
Details of the build:- Replaced the original anemic L code 350 with rebuilt ZZ4 block.- Dart cast iron heads 9.1:1 compression.- Edelbrock Performer intake.- Holly 4150 carb with electric choke.- Long tube ceramic coated headers.- X pipe in the exhaust system (new exhaust).- HEI distributor.- Aluminum radiator.- Twin electric fans.- High torque mini starter.- IROC T5 WC transmission with Howe hydraulic throw out bearing.- Drilled and slotted rotors.- Replaced the non-functional HVAC system with a Vintage Air unit. AC blows ice cold.- All new belts and hoses.- Replaced all gauges with Dakota Digital VHX gauges. Black and blue.- Added keyless power locks.- Retro Sound digital radio with USB.- XM radio. Antenna is painted to match the car.- 17" BG Rod Works wheels on Goodyear Eagles- Mahogony and chrome steering wheel.- Replaced rear view mirror with late model unit that has LED map lights.- Added LED foot well and rear storage area lights.- Added cruise control, I've yet to test it.- New rear storage doors.- New drivers lower dash.- New center console.- LED bulbs in backup and tail lights.- Estopp electric parking brake.- Brake master cylinder- Converted the lap belts to retracting shoulder belts. This wasn't an option on this year convertible.
Interior looks nice but could use some new pieces. Everything is readily available.
Currently the speedo isn't working. I think the speed sending unit is bad as it was working just last week. Hoping to have this resolved sooner than later. Been using my GPS as a speedo.
All 4 fender flares are 1" wider than stock. Looks factory and looks like what Chevy should have done from the start. It does not have that stupid 1970's overkill look to it at all.
Paint has some minor scratches here and there, the car is a driver not a trailer queen.
I have the original wheels for it, will sell them for $500 over auction close.
Why am I selling it? I spent the entire winter working on it and most of this spring. Time to move on and into something that doesn't ride on 1960's suspension.
Will seriously consider trades on a C5 convertible. No black interiors though.
Will pull auction down early if I find a local buyer / trade.
Call me at (616) 340-6065 to discuss. Steve
