Description

Up for sale is my 1987 IROC Z. This car is pretty rare and comes with the original invoice from GM (see pictures). It is fully loaded with alomost every available option. The only 2 options left that could have been ordered were the 350 L98 and rear window louvers. Someone hand wrote the window louver option on the invoice, but this car did not have it. It still has its original disc brake rear with the G80 and G92 options. Like I said, this car is loaded. See the picture of the RPO decal.
I just replaced both front brake rotors, calipers, pads, front brake hoses, and F&R sway bar end links. The car runs and drives very well with no check engine light. The car itself is in good condition and ready for a complete cosmetic restoration or just drive it as is. It has had 1 crappy repaint in its past and the interior is showing its age. Other than needing attention cosmetically, the car will need new F&R shocks (still has the original units installed), power antenna repaired or replaced, the heater control has a vacuum leak (very common), and a correct Delco/Bose head unit installed. The radio does work as do the original Bose speakers. The tires have plenty of tread and the transmission shifts well so you can drive it anywhere. All of the gauges work, but the tach reads high (another common problem).
I own and operate a full service restoration shop here in northwest Ohio. I have over 35 years experience in building and restoring all types of classics, muscle cars, and street rods. I have personally owned over 30 of GM's third generation F-Body coupes and convertibles so I know these cars very well. I can perform any level of restoration and/or repairs, LS swap, suspension upgrades, full Pro-Touring build, custom painting, etc. on this car for you if you like. I was going to restore the car for myself, but never seem to have the time to work on my own projects. If this is something that interests you or you would like to discuss the car, please call me at 419-523-6900 between 8am- 4pm EST.
Here is a short walk around video I made of the car running today:https://youtu.be/HUi5X591aew
Again, this is a very rare and loaded '87 IROC that is now becoming very collectable. The car appears to not have been tampered with too much and retains most of its originality.
