Description

1973 Camaro LS3 4L80e Vintage Air PTFB Suspension1973 Camaro original 350 auto factory A/C car.
1300 miles since I got it back together
Backstory:
I picked up this car out of California in 2018 completely restored with the body and paint completed circa 2008-10 if I remember correctly. The car had 1500 miles on it since its restoration when I picked it up, it had a 383 stroker and the original TH350 transmission with no heat or A/C. I pulled the 383 and 3 speed, swapped in a brand new LS3 and 4L80e, tore out the original wiring harness and replaced it with an American Autowire harness. During the swap I discovered numerous things that I wouldn't have been happy with putting it back together that way so the car got basically all new interior minus the seats, center console, and headliner. Also threw in a full vintage air setup but ended up ditching all of the factory vents minus the center, installed blank aluminum plates and used vintage airs proline series louvers, also added a vent straight into the gauge cluster. It will handle all the stop and go traffic and heat you can throw at it without overheating, it ran all summer long in El Paso on 105-110 degree days with asphalt temps of 140+ with the A/C on max without an issue, it gets 12-16 mpg around town and 18-22 on the highway at 70-75 all depending on your right foot and speed of course. This is a get in, crank it up, crank the A/C and go car, I'm still toying with the tune a little bit because I just cant leave things alone, otherwise it's basically ready to go. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this thing all the way across the country and back. This isn't a corner cutting junkyard LS swap thrown together for a quick profit on a low budget, but it also isn't a $100,000 sema show build. This car deserves to be driven.
