1972 Chevrolet K20 Custom 4x4
Description
This is a unusual truck as I have only seen one other one like it.The truck was equipped from the factory with a 3 speed manual transmission on the steering column. The truck I believe was purchased new from McMonagles Chevrolet in Lewiston I’d.The original owner used it in he’s logging company till he sold it to his son-in-law.From what I understand he drove it tell the clutch went out and then parked it for about 10 years. He would start it and keep fresh fuel in it. The truck was sold to a third owner who went through the pickup and got everything working and made the truck road worthy. The list below is the stuff the third owner did to the truck he informed us after all the work he did he put roughly 400 miles on the pick up.New clutchPressure plateThrowout bearingPilot bushingSurface fly wheelHeater controls along with all new cablesHeater duct hosesFuel sending unit and pick up tubeBrake master cylinderDash padInstalled aftermarket tackDriver side rear brake line and wheel cylinderWent through shifting column and rebuilt and replaced war out partsSide marker lights and taillights and headlights
The truck is equipped with a 350 small block motor and three speed manual transmission on the column. Has the 205 new process transfer case along with 456 gear ratio in the differentials. This is a great running and driving pickup that would make a great daily driver. Please look at pictures closely as there is some body damage notably on driver side of the hood and the inside of the drivers door. The truck has rust in its normal spot for this vintage passenger side fender, Outer rockers and driver side cab corner. The cab mounts are in good shape and are solid the floorboards are in good shape a little bit of rust peeking through in the corners of the floorboards by the kick panels. We purchased the truck about 60 miles from town and drove it back and it drove great.Would be able to hop in the truck and drive it anywhere.
After we purchased the truck we installed new black carpet and had the seat reupholstered with the black and white houndstooth like the Cheyenne pickup would be equipped with. Install new door weatherstrips and seal plates. The truck is all stock and has never had any modifications done to it with the exception of the chrome air cleaner and HEI ignition put into it.We still have the original air cleaner and will come with the purchase of the vehicle the lid is bad. The paint on the truck is original and is getting thin. It does look like it could’ve been spotted in in a couple spots. The truck at one time was equipped with 2 slip tanks in the bed that are no longer there.
