classic vintage chrome coupe side pipes c2 Vette Chevy supercharged
Description
Everything you see and touch tells your brain it's a well-restored classic from the 1960s. But the moment you twist the key, there's a whole new sensation of power. This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Restomod is an awesome supercharged 'Vette that also has the transmission and suspension upgrades to really deliver a pure power driving experience.
This Sting Ray doesn't like to give too many hints at the modern upgrades beneath the skin. But it also doesn't like to stay quiet either. That's why the first impression is just about a superbly restored car. Red is a great Corvette color, but this one can't help but grab some extra attention over the rest. After all, they laid down a silver base coat before the Candy Apple Red went on top, and there were three coats of clearcoat that went on next. This careful and professional application yielded a vivid color with an ideal sparkle, and the finish looks miles deep. And with paint like this, the chrome has to be upgraded, too. After all, nothing fills you with more pride than seeing the curves of your Sting Ray reflected in the mirror-like bumpers. Plus, you have all the best C2 Stingray performance features, like the Stinger hood, sport wheels with knock-off hubs, and side pipes. So even when parked, this one gives off a sharp and sparkling impression you get from the most carefully restored classics.
Since the exterior is red with white accents, it's great to see that color theme continued inside. And also, just like the outside, the interior is also about appearing period-correct with subtle upgrades. You'll be impressed with the feel of the white leather seats, smooth dash, and plush carpeting. The wood-rimmed sports steering wheel feels terrifically grippy in your hands. Beyond that, you'll see that all the correct instruments are in place. Not only do they look good with the shiny bezels, but more importantly, everything works - even the clock! The radio is a classic Delco AM/FM unit, the power window controls are correct, and the Vintage Air R134a air conditioning blows out of the factory-style setup. But there are a few upgrades that took a little more effort to hide. There's a boost gauge in the glovebox, and have you counted the gears on the shift pattern yet?
While the interior and exterior are stealth about the performance upgrades, the engine bay cannot hide its beastly nature. This is a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8 built with forged components by Scotty's Machine Shop. Not only is this strong, but it also has go-fast goodies, like a Demon 750 double-pumper four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake, and a programmable MSD 6AL-2 programmable ignition. And while that's usually plenty of performance for most people, this one really steps it up a notch with a Procharger D1SC supercharger. You harness this enhanced powerhouse by the control of a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission with dual disc clutch. It's a serious power package that makes a sweet high octane soundtrack from those side pipes. And when you really want to being the thunder, there's a switch in the glovebox for straight pipe exhaust cutouts. When you look underneath the car, you see a clean setup and a powder coated frame. You'll also notice that the Sting Ray's fully independent suspension has been fully upgraded to Van Steel components. This includes tubular arms up front and a more advanced six-link rear. QA1 adjustable coilovers, hydroboost SBC four-wheel disc brakes, and power steering complete a terrific package that puts this supercharged Corvette easily under your control.
