Description

Same owner the last 18 years. We have a folder of maintenance receipts while he owned it. This is a very good, honest car. Not a concourse restoration but a very well cared for, unabused Corvette.
EXTERIOR: Very rare color combination for a 61 Corvette. From 3 feet away, the car looks new. It shows really well because the body is straight fits super nice. The fawn beige metallic is laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished to a high gloss finish. When you get up close and inspect the car you will find miscellaneous flaws. The chrome and trim is exceptionally nice which certainly helps the appearance too. Up front the bumpers, grills and trim all fits really well and shines brightly. It still has three of the original T-3 headlights. The stainless spears on top of the fenders and around the coves are all polished. The mirrors, door handles and top latches shine. The antenna and trunk emblem are excellent. In back the bumpers, license plate frame and tail lights shine bright. The rims are painted to match the car, the stainless hubcaps with spinners are in really nice shape. Firestone tires are new. Door jambs are very tidy, the weather strips have been replaced. The convertible top frame is excellent, the white convertible has a 2 inch rear on the driver's side.
INTERIOR: It does show some age but it is not abused. The entire instrument and dash area is exceptionally nice. The gauges look clean, everything fits very well. A retro stereo fits in the factory hole. It has a correct 4-speed with reverse lockout. The door panels are very much intact but there is some sun fading. The driver seat has a hole and the cushion is worn. I would have the hole in the seat fixed, new cushion installed and dye the seats and door panels. Visors are excellent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Correct 283-230 hp motor was completely rebuilt and balanced, a detailed invoice is included. Rebuilt distributor, generator, starter and carb. It has original pie tin air cleaner, ignition shielding, manifolds and the finned aluminum valve covers. The radiator shroud, clutch fan and expansion tank all look proper.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Not brand new but very respectable. It has a spare in the tire well, rubber mat is real nice and has the cardboard filler panel behind the seat. The weather strip is new.
UNDERSIDE: It is exceptionally clean under this car. At 1st glance I noticed a clean black chassis and undamaged raw fiberglass floors. The floors are not painted over because there is nothing to hide. The frame is smooth rust free metal painted black. Under the front of the motor it looks clean, the starter, fly wheel cover and wires look clean. T-10 Borg Warner 4-speed also looks clean. In back the rear end has 3.36 gears and the nylon travel straps are in place. The exhaust system looks good. The front end looks good, shocks, swaybar bushings, tie rod ends were replaced.
This Corvette has my respect. I believe it has not been abused, cut up and monkeyed with. Yes there are some flaws but this classic Vette looks great and functions very well too.
