1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Original, Numbers-Matching Drivetrain Well-Optioned Car 302ci V8 / M22 Rock Crusher 4spd Manual / 4.10 Posi 25 Years Owned, Climate-Controlled Garage High-Level Full Restoration: Show-Quality Car VIN: 124379N626130 Paint: Garnet Red (52) Top: Black Vinyl (B) Exterior Trim: Style Trim Group, Special Performance Equipment Z28 (X33) Style: 1969 Camaro Coupe (69-12437) Assembly Plant: Norwood, Ohio (NOR) Build Date: March, Fifth Week (03E) This absolutely stunning ‘69 Z28 302ci 4spd has been part of the Chicago Car Club family collection for over twenty years, the owner of our business having purchased the car fresh off a painstaking, long-term restoration back in 1997. The gentleman who did the restoration, a long-time friend and marque expert, bought the car off the lawn at a car show in Wisconsin in 1990-91, then proceeded to disassemble and restore it to an even higher standard. He restored the car alongside a second ‘69 Z28, an all-original, four wheel disc brake car. He mixed and matched the two a bit, cleaning and swapping the never-reupholstered white vinyl interior out of the other car and into this one. Only correct GM parts were used down to the most minute detail, and the result is truly outstanding. Since the job was completed in 1997, the car has seen nothing but perfect weather, climate-controlled showroom storage, and 110-octane fuel, accruing only about 1100 miles since completion. This car is ready-to-go straightaway, having been owned by the most fastidious of owners for over twenty years, and having seen recent highway exercise in preparation for the sale. Exterior: Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Correct Garnet Red paint is excellent. A beautiful, glassy finish. No paint run or bubbling whatsoever on the car, though there is one small spot where there are minor dust nibs. Only visible if you’re looking for it, and that is on the top of the passenger fender, right around the base of the antenna. Every blemish on the car is shown close-up in the video, and blemishes are limited to a handful of small, touched-up chips scattered about the car. Garnet Red with white stripes looks very sharp over the white vinyl interior. Polished trim pieces are free of oxidation or damage and pop nicely, not faded or tired-looking at all. Front chin spoiler is nice and clean, not scuffed or damaged. Soft Ray glass is all clear and free of cracks or scratches. Light lenses are all in great shape, with no discoloring or hairline cracks, and the headlights are the correct T3s. Wheels are fantastic. No scuffs or oxidation. Tires are Uniroyal Tiger Paws and despite looking brand new, they were actually manufactured in 1997. Goes to show how responsibly-stored this car was. Panel fitment is spot-on, and the doors/hood/trunk all open and close very nice and smoothly. Interior: Again, please defer to the photos and video. Interior is pretty impressive. As mentioned earlier, the entire white vinyl interior (seats and door panels) is unrestored, having come out of a ‘69 Z28 four wheel disc car. This car was originally equipped with a black standard interior, trim code 711, but that was forgone in favor of the white. No punctures, scuffs, or significant wear throughout the interior. Really the only thing to be aware of is some slight age-related discoloring on the back of the front seat headrests, on the tops of the door panels, and some visible wear on the driver’s door armrest. Dash top is in beautiful condition, as is the interior wood. No hairline cracks, peeling, etc. Headliner is clean and tight, sun visors are also in great shape – firm and hold their position. Gauges are nice and clear, and are all functional with the exception of the analog clock. Odometer reading of just under 1100 miles indicates mileage since full restoration. We are not aware of mileage prior, but the original engine and trans were rebuilt during the restoration. Lights are all functional, as are wipers. Black carpeting is in great shape, with no fraying or discoloring, and the correct floormats are with the car as well. Original radio is functional, as is the fan and heat. Underbody/Under the Hood: Please take a look at the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. Beautiful, A-level condition. No damage or rust whatsoever. This car has had power steering added for the sake of driveability, and front disc brakes were standard. As it sits now, this is a fully-sorted, phenomenally clean and well-loved example that is ready for its next custodian.
