1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible SS

You are looking at a very clean and well taken care of 1965 Chevelle Convertible.I would describe it's condition asa show quality extremely nicedriver, that can be driven and shown anywhere.It is a factory 283 V-8 car with a Powerglide transmission, power steering, and 4bbl Carb.The car was originally White with Teal interior according to the de-code and a NON-SS. You can not tell there was a color change. Everything was done to very high standards. The car has the correct original, not re-production, Super Sport badging but is not a Super Sport.The body is stick straight, paint is excellent, all gaps are nice, and there is no evidence of accidents, panel replacements, etc. Floors, trunk, etc... are 100% solid and all metal appears original.Everything on and in this Chevelle is extremely nice or brand new except as stated!It appears to have been a complete restoration some time in the past on a very nice car and has been keptimmaculate since.The paint is excellent showing no scratches andonly a fewblemishes.The interior and toplook new. Under the hood is immaculate as is the trunk.Everything works except for the clock, radio, odometer, and cigarette lighter! There is a Clarion C-D player mounted in the glove box that works and sounds great.Headlights, taillights, turn signals,horn, speedometer,fuel gauge, etc. all work as they should. Speedometer works and is accuratebut the odometer does not work and mileage is unknown.The windows roll up and down like butter.The doors shut solid without being slammed.Top fits extremely well and back window is clear showing no discolor or scratches.Thereare nocracks in the steering wheel which is rare. There is a small crack in the dash pad about 1" long next to the speaker grille but is not noticeable.
This car always starts right up, sounds awesome.It has newerturbo mufflerdual exhaust.The car drives excellent! It does not smoke, rattle, leak, etc. Transmission is solid and shifts like it should. Brakes are excellent and stop straight without pulling.16" American Racing Torque Thrust wheels are shod ingood fronttires and new rear tires. (205-50-16 f / 245-45-16 r)It is a factory 4bbl car so it is very fun to drive around town as well as on the highway. Great power and extremely peppy!Hei ignition replaces the point distributer.It cruises at 65mph just like or better than new!This car is a true joy to drive and gets attention EVERYWHERE.
Note; The last three pictures show somesmall bubbleson the drivers front door down low, the drivers rear door down low, and the rear of the passengers door / front of rear quarter panel. It is very minor but still there. This is the only rust we can find anywhere in the car. There is also some light "pitting" on the rear trunk panel, door handles, and rear view mirror as these are original unrestored pieces.The floors, trunk, etc... are all original showing noissues of any kind. I have several pictures of the bottom of the car that I can send upon request.
The car has had an Independent 3rd party inspection doneby Ted Shlachter of the Lemon Squad paid for by a potential purchaser.Here is the E-Mail copy that was sent tothe potential client and forwarded to me;
Overall, vehicle is in excellent condition and has been kept up from its inception and has been restored with care. It is possible that vehicle was in Canada at one point in it's life, as the driver's vent window has a sticker saying "Canadian Classics"
Most of the undercarriage has been undercoated. The inner hood has also been undercoated. No apparent motor, transmission or rear-end leaks, U-Joints are tight, exhaust system is solid and virtually rust free. Only issue is the gas tank has a small dent.
Paint is in great condition. Some paint nicks and imperfections were found and 2 small areas of clear coat runs. Color change from white to blue is not detectable. The paint around some of the lettering on the hood is cracked. There is some very minor rust and paint bubbling as noted in the pictures. There is some paint over spray between the rubber seals and the body. There is a paint chip just above the door lock on the right door.
Interior is also in great condition, All upholstery appears to be brand new, and the seats have new foam inside. Steering wheel has NO cracks. There is some pitting on the center console near the shift lever.
Windows roll up and down very smoothly. Glass is perfect, no cracks or stone chips. There are a couple of light scratches on the driver’s window.
The interior and trunk carpet are in excellent condition.
The chrome is in very good condition. Some pitting is apparent on the grille and the molding at the rear of the trunk and light rust is noted at the license plate lights. A small amount of pitting is noted on some chrome areas. Door handles and Side View mirror have a small amount of pitting.
Vehicle started right up. Motor and Transmission operate normally. Motor is strong and solid, it has significant power, runs smooth, no abnormal noises. Powerglide Transmission shifts and downshifts perfectly. Exhaust system is perfect. No issues noted in suspension. Brakes were good and responsive. Pedal distance had NO slack. Vehicle drives straight does not shake, shimmy or vibrate, there are NO rattles. All fluids are clean, levels are correct. Brake master was not opened. Fuel Filter is new. Belts and hoses are in good condition
Steering is tight (for this age vehicle).
Aftermarket items include a gauge cluster and CD changer which both work normally.
Convertible top appears brand new and is in perfect shape. It opens, closes, and locks without any problems. Rear plastic window is clear.
Doors open and close perfectly.
Odometer does NOT operate; however, speedometer operates and seems to be accurate. All idiot lights work, Factory Clock and Radio do NOT operate.
Both Front and Rear Bumpers are mis-aligned, there is about a ½ inch space difference horizontally between the Driver’s and Passenger’s side where it meets the metal valance.
There are aftermarket chrome wheels in excellent condition. No curb rash. Front tires are in fair condition, and are a different size compared to the rear. Rear tires are in very good condition.
The passenger and driver side Inner Panels by the rear windows are aligned differently. Overall decent. See below and pics for more info.
