We decided to relist this Acadian with a "buy it now" price and lower reserve. We have had lots of nibbles at it so this new auction format should help those interested!
I am listing this for my father-in-law who is regretfully selling this original/survivor! Please visit my feedback and bid with confidence. I have many high-end successful transactions with 100% positive feedback. Please ask any questions before bidding and only bid if you have the ability and intent to fulfill the transaction. Contact me through Ebay and I can send you an article from Old Autos documenting this car.
This is a 1966 Acadian Canso Sport Deluxe with lemonwood paint and ultra rare fawn interior. It has the original 283 V8 engine and 2-speed powerglide transmission. There were only 552 of these built in 1966 and this is surely one of the nicest ones known. A similar one sold atBarrett-Jackson a few years ago for over $70,000.
The steering box is rebuilt, full front end rebuild, new shocks and air shocks, all new belts and hoses, new tires with 205/70/14s in the front and 215/70/14s in the rear on period correct ET mag wheels. All wheel cylinders were replaced, all new fluids, new spark plugs, car and rotors, rebuilt original radiator, all glass original with the exception of the windshield which is in excellent condition. We have saved all of the original parts along with the wheels and hubcaps that came on this car. Everything works as it should, drives excellent, brakes well and is a pleasure to drive. The only thing that doesn't work is the clock. This would be about $100 to repair if new owner was interested.
This car was born in Oshawa Canada and came to our dry climate here in Idaho over 27 years ago. There is no rust and all panels and trunk are original. The paint is also excellent and the stainless trim is in terrific condition. I don't really have any negatives to report other than the dash clock not working. There are a few tiny, I mean small dings in the stainless steel trim but that is amazing for being almost 50 years old.
