Description

This has been a 4 year frame on restoration to my own personal taste. It is a RestoMod 1969 Chevelle Super Sport, which was not a numbers matching SS, so I did it my way and to my personal taste and preferences. I imagined buying a 1969 SS 396 new, only to have the 1970 SS 454 come out the very next year and have that nasty LS6 power plant, and kicking my one year old 1969's ass down the strip. So I decided to take my 1969 (my favorite year Chevelle SS) and give it the power-train combination to keep up. This is a 454 .030 over 4 bolt Hi Perf block with 129 rectangle port heads, a brand new set of Hedmann headers, Hays 11 inch clutch, new flywheel, Super T-10 aluminum 4 speed, rebuilt 3:31 12 bolt rear, Holley aluminum 850 Double pumper custom tuned, MSD ignition custom balanced/sprung and tuned, duel electric cooling fans (it idels nice and cool all day long on the hottest summer day), no expense spared beast.
The body was done in GM Triple black on black. I left off the gaudy chrome wheel arch trims and rain gutter chrome intentionally, as I wanted this thing to be black on black on black..period. I kept the original SS wheels, as I like them just the way they are..14 inch OEM SS wheels/trims/center caps with brand new still blue on the white raised letters tires. The paint has about 8 layers of base coat, 7 coats of clear, and was block sanded and wet sanded for about 50 hours...it is an insane paint job. Any of you that know paint, knows that black is the hardest color that there is, and I challenge the most anal body man to head over here and find the flaw...this car is amazing.
The interior was completely gutted to the floorboards. New carpet, new seat foams/covers/trims/knobs, new door panels, new sail panels, new everything. The original Big Block instrument cluster was completely gone through, cleaned, painted, detailed to the nines and every gauge works precisely as it should. New fuel tank sending unit, new 3.5 inch dual exhaust with cross over pipe...nothing was skipped in this build.
The suspension was completely redone..new shocks, new bushings, new front disc brakes, new rear wheel cylinders, all new complete parking brake mechanisms/cables from the lever to the drums, nothing skipped.
We did the car "Frame on" because the frame was mint. The frame mounts were mint. And I wanted this thing to be a driver and something to enjoy, rather than something that was so insanely done that I was scared to take the cover off. But I have to say, I failed. I am scared to take the cover off..the thing turned out so straight and astonishing that even though it is a non numbers matching Super Sport Resto Mod and not a numbers matching documented queen, it is still stunning and I am scared to death that I am going to put its first blemish every time I go near it.
If you want a bad ass "Old School" RestoMod that runs like the beasts of the late 60's and early 70's in their glory, then this may be your new Spring/Summer/Fall dream car. If you want the new fangled "LS Motor" RestoMod, then keep looking...this one is done period correct and is the big block beast of yesteryear. You will not be disappointed, I am not a bullshitter, I will not waste your time, and please be kind enough to reciprocate.
Any question, any more photos, come see the car, call me, email me, text me, make me a fair offer, and lets try to work something out. I have owned this car for years, but it is JUST OFF a four year insane build and has less than 100 miles on it since completion...only a few nasty burn outs so far to test the drive line...it passed my tests! The build cost an insane amount of money, and took longer than I expected. My son is in college, with three more brothers/sister behind him. I could use the money to keep trying to live in this insanely expensive damn state of NJ and keep on the path of my children's education. However...not desperate or dying..so please be real. You could not get the body work and paint that this car possesses for $20,000 alone..let alone all of the other things spelled above and forgotten in my description.
Thank you for looking..appreciate your time and interest. John
