1966 Chevrolet Bel Air Stationwagon (6 pass.) Numbers matching 283 c.i. engine with Powerglide automatic transmission. Originally purchased from Clayton Chevrolet in Seneca, South Carolina. I purchased her from the second owner (a neighbor of the original owner) in 2005. It was completely stock. I flew to SC and drove her back to NY. The gaps between body panels, hood, doors and tailgate are all PERFECT. The doors, hood, and tailgate open and close like a NEW CAR. Remarkable for a 50 year old automobile. Born with a 2 barrel carburetor and single exhaust. Upgraded to an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, along with a new dual exhaust system. (Has the deep "rumble" of a big block.) Original, manual drum brakes are upgraded to power assist with discs up front. Repainted for the 1st time in 2006 with her original color "Artesian Turquoise" The paint is "show" quality. (Extensive prep work was done prior to paint. Entire interior was removed, including; headliner, dash, seats, door panels, carpeting, window weather stripping, door gasketing, hood, fuel door, windshield, rear quarter windows, door handles and locks.) Close to frame-off. New to the car is: windshield, aluminum radiator, springs, shocks, hoses, belts, wires, window weather stripping, door handles and door gasketing. The gas tank was removed and re-conditioned. Complete custom interior, including: Padded dash, headliner, seats, (front seat back raised 6" for improved safety, and appearance), padded door panels and padded carpeting. Cream colored seats have cream/turquoise striped cloth inserts for added comfort. The finishing touch is a Lecarra billet aluminum steering wheel and hub, finished with padded, one piece, hand sewn leather. Comes with original steering wheel, roof rack and "Bel Air" metal script for the rear quarter panels. All in excellent shape. Comes with the 55 page owners manual, Protect-O-Plate document, and Custom Feature Accessories Manual. The windshield is new and nicely tinted from the factory. The rest of the windows have been professionally tinted with Saint-Gobain Solar Gard film. (High Performance Charcoal Series 50.) Series 50, the lightest of 7 shades of tint, is typically used for windshields. It is a beautiful match with the new windshield. (Tinting is a must in Arizona. It is applied to new cars as standard equipment.) A little bit about this particular wagon. I've been a "Long Roof" enthusiast for many years. I grew up the 3rd of 12 children. Wagons were a necessity. Starting in 1954, my dad would buy a new Ford Country Squire every 2 or 3 years. The '54, '57 and '65 were especially nice. Yet, my personal favorite wagon has always been the 1966 full size Chevy. Although very similar to the '65 at a glance, the '66 is a much nicer automobile (in my opinion). After deciding to purchase and build my dream car, it took me approximately 2 years to find this particular gem. It was in beautiful condition. I spared almost nothing in rebuilding her, and I believe the photos confirm this. A truly exceptional automobile. Good luck bidding.
