Vintage Motorcars is pleased to present this custom 1960 Chevrolet Brookwood Wagon Resto-Mod.
Once considered passé by enthusiasts, station wagons have come into their own in the 21st century. Those examples that have remained are now avidly sought after, and the car presented here is an excellent blending of old and new technologies. Moreover, this 1960 Brookwood is an especially desirable 2-door model, making the perfect basis for a project of this magnitude.
Nothing was spared in the nut-and-bolt restoration that went into the creation of this beautiful Chevrolet, and this car’s transformation is so recent it has never been publically shown. With substantial effort exhibited from every angle, both name-brand and custom-fabricated components abound.
For power, in place of the original power plant is now a late-model LS2 engine. This modern mill comes complete with custom-formed and painted top cover, cold-air intake, March Performance serpentine belt system, Classic Auto Air unit, stainless dual exhaust and large amounts of polished bright work. The firewall has been smoothed over for this installation.
Behind the engine is a matched floor-shifted 4L60E automatic transmission featuring four forward gears. For solid-ride characteristics and road feel, an Air Ride suspension has been employed, and the car touches the ground on 18- and 20-inch Billet Specialties wheels.
Wonderfully visual in a deep champagne paint, this Brookwood has both had Nomad rear trim added and new chrome and polished stainless throughout. The two-tone tan interior is appointed in luxurious but durable upholstery, which includes detailing back through the rear cargo area. Up front are custom leather seats and console, Billet Specialties steering wheel, custom digital gauging in the circular factory dash pods, and updated audio equipment.
For somebody looking for the cruise-in machine that is not seen every day, or a show-quality car with enough custom flair to make people look twice, this 2-door Brookwood wagon with upgraded everything is your answer.
