Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer an incredible show winning 1938 Chevrolet Pickup. This all steel truck has been lovingly built specifically for the show circuit. The truck has undergone a 100% restoration which has left no stone unturned. Everybody panel has been painstakingly striped, straightened, and in some cases modified. There are obvious changes such as the 3" chop and the custom bed, but there are hours and hours of bodywork that take a more keen eye to catch. Every piece of the truck has been touched in some way. The grill has been sectioned and leaned back, the hood made one piece and completely changed in shape, even the fenders have been customized. Each fender has been extended to have a lower running board height for a low and mean look. This incredible custom body all sits on a 1938 frame which has been completely boxed for strength. THe bdoy is all finished in a custom mixed "Brilliant Silver" which has been expertly laid and buffed to a mirror finish. The underside was of course not neglected, as the frame sports a Graphite Metallic paint job which is show mirror ready. Of course the frame has been updated with handmade cross members, a Heidts Mustang II front end and it all sits on adjustable air ride suspension. The beating heart of this beast is a brand new 502 CID Ram Jet 502 Horsepower Fuel Injected Chevrolet Big Block. The V8 is backed by a 700R4 by TCI Automotive. The rear end is a Currie 9" Ford 4 link with Posi-Traction and 3.55 final drive ratio. The interior of this slick and smooth street rod is just as clean as the exterior. High quality upholstery covers seating for two with all the comforts of home. There's a tilt column for easy access, air conditioning to keep you cool, and even an auxiliary stereo hookup. The rear bed area is concealed with a custom tonneau cover which can be electronically raised and lowered with the touch of a switch. Concealed out of sight are the air ride tank, battery, and fuel tank. The hidden details in this truck are what make it really special.
