This is a 1977 Camaro that I purchased about a year ago with the intensions of restoring it. A 77 Camaro was my first car and I bought the car as an impulse buy. Even though I knew it would take a while to restore, I quickly realized that I simply don’t have the time or knowledge to do it. Thus, I’m selling the car. My lost will be your gain as they say. Below are the specifics of the car to the best of my mechanic’s knowledge and mine.
Body:
The body and frame of the car is in very good shape. There is very little rust other that the floor pans. The previous owner replaced most of the floor with sectional repair pans but there are still a few rust holes that would need to be repaired but not many. There is also a hole in the transmission tunnel that I guess was used to access the transmission. The transmission works fine. You will see in the pictures; the driver’s side quarter panel area is painted a slightly different color than the rest of the car. I started paint stripping that area because eventually I was going to repaint the whole car a light blue like my original 77. I re-painted it to match the best I could. There is no rust on that quarter panel.
Mechanical:
Mechanically the transmission works fine and the engine is solid. It is a 1970’s non-numbers matching 350 GM engine. My mechanic does say it probably needs a tune up and adjustment of one of the valves. Brakes all work fine also. Rear shocks need replacement.
Electrical:
The biggest issue with this car is the wiring. It’s all there but some of it needs to be repaired. All instruments and a/c were working when I got it. You will see from the picture that I started to remove the interior and I tagged the wiring to eventually repair and replace some of it.
Parts:
While I have not put back the interior, I have most of the original parts as you can see from the pictures. I am missing the carpet. The smaller parts are all bagged and labeled and will of course come with the car.
This car is not a show car but can be a good driver quality with a little work.
