Description

1931 Chevrolet AEIndependence 6 Cabriolet

Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton Motors.

While Ford was the car that put "America on wheels", in 1931 their sales dropped some 66%, due in-part to the effects of the Great Depression, but moreso because of the great little 6 cylinder cars being produced by Chevrolet. Chevys found hundreds of thousands of buyers that year, helping to make Chevrolet number 1 in sales in 1931.

This 1931 Model AEIndependence Cabriolet was owned by a Chevrolet collector for many years and received a full frame-off restoration some years ago. It has seen limited use since, and shows beautifully today, as attested to by the photos and video which were taken recently.

Riding on a 109" wheelbase, this car has a fully rebuilt 6 cylinder 194 cubic inch engine that creates 50 horsepower, giving a top speed of 85 mph. This "Stovebolt 6" runs beautifully and is a pleasure to drive.

The rust-free body has been completely restored and repainted in black with red wheels. Restored interior and top. Well optioned with rear-mouted spare tire and wire wheels.

Being a Cabriolet, this car has roll-up windows in the doors, which makes it a snug closed cars in case of inclimate weather. With the top down and rumble seat open, 4 people can travel in style. Great for touring.

While Chevrolet outsold Ford in 1931, today these cars are hard to find, especially in this condition. If you are looking for a dialed-in Cabriolet for show or touring, this one is mighty fine.

A realistic reserve has been placed on this car in keeping with its rarity and quality. Please bid accordingly.

WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS WORLDWIDE.

Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
