Description

This is a 1963 Chevy Nova Wagon. It was a one owner car from the time of purchase up until maybe 2011 or 2012. It changed hands a couple of times after that and I have owned it since 2013. I drive it almost daily. The engine runs well, but it could use a new carburetor. The current one has a chip in the opening that prevents the air cleaner from attaching solidly.
I converted the 3spd column shift to a floor shift with a Hurst shifter. I replaced the old distributor with an HEI distributor about 2 years ago. Exact mileage is unknown, but I suspect it has turned over at least once.I have also replaced the original instrument cluster with an SS model cluster. The clock, however, does not keep accurate time and not all gauges are connected. The speedometer and the fuel gauge work, but the volt, temp and oil pressure gauges have not been connected. There is a separate temp gauge connected and mounted under the dash.
The old cluster read 73,000+ when I removed it and the new one was at 0 when I installed it. It now reads 8,000+. Assuming the old cluster turned over once, this would put mileage at about 180,000, but this is only a guess.
I painted it in 2013, put in new carpet, new headliner (original bow style), new arm rests, new sill plates and new visors. It also has a bluetooth stereo mounted in the glove compartment with a hands free mic mounted by driver side front pillar. I also retro-fitted seat belts to the front bucket seats. There are no belts on the back seat.
Other new equipment includes: new windshield and weatherstripping, new front springs, new shocks, new alternator, new speedometer cable, new battery, new fuel pump and new starter. The heater is not connected and I do not know whether it works. Other items that don't work include the interior dome light and the horn - the parts are new, I just haven't chased the connections yet.
Additional notes: the hood is fiberglass and no springs are installed. It is missing some trim pieces up front. These include: 1) the front bumper filler, the park lamp bezels and the bezel extensions. These can all be obtained from Classic Industries for about $200 to $300.
She's not a show car, but she gets a lot of looks and waves and she's a lot of fun to drive.
