1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertable
Description
This is an old car with a few issues, including one significant one which I will get to. That said, it's a really fun car to drive and turns a ton of heads. The major issue is that the throttle line needs to be replaced. This means that the gas peddle line which attaches to the throttle in the back engine needs to be fixed. The car cannot be driven until this is fixed. I have no idea how much this would cost.
The motor itself is in very good shape and runs well and turns over quickly, ever after a long winter of sitting in my driveway- the carburetors were just replaced in the summer of 2015. My hunch is that there is an oil leak or gasket that's loose which makes the engine pan smoke a bit after a longer drive but still the engine drives well. All of that said, it drives as well as you would expect a classic 50 year old car to drive (i.e. don't pull out into an intersection with a soccer mom behind the wheel going 70 in the mini-vancomingthe other way)
Cosmetically the car has some issues, though it looks ok from 5 yards away! The top has a few holes but some tape will solve that problem - the back window has a big gash in it now covered with some tape. The dash is sort of funky and wavy, the carpets are there but are 50 years old, the radio does not work. There are some points of rust where you would expect them, and a few dings, some cracks, etc. This is by no means a show car. This is a beach carextraordinaire. All safety features work for it to pass NY inspection (i.e. blinkers, horn, breaks, wipers, etc.)
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS CAR PLEASE CALL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS!!!! I can walk you through the car and point out what's going on. You need to be happy as a buyer and since this is an old car it would be impossible to list all of the defects here. I can do a facetime or skype call or just do my best to tell you what's going on so you are a happy buyer.
