just thought i'd mention that the chevelle no longer has the black z/28 type rally wheels ... those were off my hugger orange 1970 camaro ... chevelle comes with other rally wheels in photos. also, the car does have anoriginalSS rear bumper, extra trunk lid & some bright work trim pieces ... only aftermarket parts with chevelle are the new rear quarter skins ( not installed & hood hinges ... car is what as known as a survivor, being 46 years old & original ...
i bought this 1970 chevelle malibu from the original owner. his son had stripped the both rear quarters & trunk lid to bare metal. he also, removed the malibu trim from the drivers side & removed the trim mounting studs. my guess was to build a chevelle SS. i wet sanded the exterior with 0000 fine angel hair steel wool & sprayed down the whole car with de-ruster & lightly epoxy primed the rear quarters. to prevent rusting. the car is all original sheetmetal with no repairs of filler on it. it has rust / rot in the trunk floor which needs repair panel. some rust / rot on the wheel arch's of the rear quarters. i bought both quarter skins to repair this. lower front fenders needs patch panels. could use front inner wheel wells. passengers side under battery tray rotted. drivers side inner wheel well has a small quarter size spot. solid rockers with nice pitch welds. small spot on lower radiator support. doors are solid along bottom. you can see previous owner did fill in drivers side malibu trim holes and emblem holes. when it rains she looks like a new car .... no dents or dings. super straight body. as far as what i'm trying to get out of it ? i'd like to get my investment back ...i stopped counting at $12k ;)~ but, i listed this auction at $9k with no reserve... note : both engine & transmission have been professional rebuilt ... engine worth over $3k & transmission with shifter over $2k alone may sell chevelle without engine & transmission on an agreed buy it now price |
