1966 El Camino (functional) Factory A/C P/S P/B P/W 4 speed Restored custom
Description
Smoke free - Always. All pictures are of the actual car listed in the auction- no "borrowed" pictures.
Although this is a frame off nut and bolt restoration, I personally did not restore the car, however the documentation that supports the nut & bolt restoration is included. This is a Factory A/C car, however has been updated to use R134a type freon. The engine is a 350 with new (not junk yard)Vortec cylinder heads. The transmission is a Muncie 4 speed. The rear hosts an Eaton posi unit with 3.55 gears. The drive train has just over 5k miles since being rebuilt (pistons, rings, bearings, cam, hydraulic lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, timing chain & gears and
oil pump). Edelbrock performer intake and a Holley 600 dual feed carb. Ignition is handled by an GM HEI distributor with a vacuum advance. The transmission has new bearings and synchronizers. Shifting is done with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter (T-handle and white ball are included with the car). The radiator was replaced during the restoration, but has since been updated to a "Factory Mount" AFCO aluminum radiator and an electric puller fan. The car has been upgraded to Power Front Disc Brakes and Power Windows. The Tilt Column is from a 1967 Chevelle as tilt was not an option in 1966.
Ask questions or better yet make an appointment to see the car in person if you are local, or send someone to check it out for you. If you are a serious buyer, please ask for additional items you need to have pictures of. I will assist with the logistics of shipping by being available 7 days per week for YOUR transporter. Once the car has been paid in full and the payment has cleared, the winning bidder will have 30 days to have the car picked up at no additional charge. I am familiar with shipping vehicles and am understanding of their scheduling challenges.
If you are going to ask if a part has been replaced, feel free - but (spoiler alert) it is highly unlikely that it has not been replaced. I could write a book with more details, however I'll leave it up to you to ask.
The reserve is $22,500. I'm sure most sellers do not disclose the reserve, however I am setting the tone for a no games, no BS, straight up car sale.
Myreason for selling? I want something a little faster. If you are local, I will entertain trade talk (hint: I love wagons). On Sep-06-16 at 15:39:37 PDT, seller added the following information:Okay, taking the bulk answer road versus answering individual questions. Thank you all for your interest. 1) Yes, complete front suspension has all been replaced, with steering box being rebuilt. Rear suspension has had all bushings replaced, and the factory trailing arms have some strengthening supports welded in. 2) The car does NOT have headers, opted to retain the exhaust manifolds. The rest of the exhaust is mandrel bent 3 inch with 22" Walker mufflers. Very low rumble, but quiet going down the road. No clamps on the exhaust, and modern style hard rubber hangers are there, but hard to see without getting underneath the car. 3) The coil springs are Hotchkis. 4) The body mount bushings and hardware were replaced. 5) There is a mini spare tire from a Cadillac mounted behind the passenger seat. 6) The interior was completed replaced.Again, thank you for your inquiries. As previously stated, request pictures of specifics as needed through ebay (as I am unable to change posted pics due to bidding).
I am not opposed to talking about the car with serious bidders. You may request my info through ebay once you have placed a bid. Ebay will also send me your info - just so you are aware.
Regards,Michael
