1972 Chevrolet Impala converible; 454; solid driver
Description
This 1972 impala is a very solid car; verylittle rust. It sat inside a warehouse in Cheyenne, WY from approx. 1985 thru 2004 when I bought it. Since that time its been I my garage. The only rust is around the rear wheel opening and a verysmall area (maybe 1/2"x 6") in the drivers floor.Over the last 2 years I've done a lot of work to this car to bring it back to life.
I installed a 454/ TH400 from a low mileage suburban. The engine runs smooth with no unusual noises or smoke. The transmission performs perfectly as well. The front end has been gone through with new ball joints, bushings, inner and out tie rod ends and bearings. The brakes were redone with pads, shoes, wheel cyl, new master cylinder and soft brake lines. The gas tank was removed and cleaned with a new sendingunit installed. New 600 Holley vac secondary carb. New water pump. New fuel pump. New battery. New gauges. Almost new radiator.New shocks. New PS pump, belts, hoses... new wheels and tires....I'm sure there are some other new items I've missed.
This Impala runs and drives excellent and when you bring it back to the garage, NO LEAKS! Plus all lights, turn signals work!
So heres what the car still needs; a convertible top (the frame is in the car but no soft top). interior work if you want it to look nice. and the interior is missing a couple items, door cranks and visors and maybe a little piece or two here and there. The paint is not a high quality job and was done many years ago, but it still hasdecent shine and is what most would call a 20 footer. I'm sure most would eventually want to have paint done, but it can be enjoyed for a while as is. The exhaust needs to be done as well (I have new mufflers in a box)
That's about it. Inspections are welcome for serious buyers.
