1968 Chevrolet Chevelle MATCHING NUMBERSSS 396 2dr hardtop, 4-speed with a bench seat. True 138 VIN Code car. The car was a Texas car up until 2000. The car was re-located to Michigan in 2000. Since being relocated to Michigan, the vehicle has been garage stored. The vehicle has never seen any Michigan road salt. The car is show quality.

Options - V8, 4-speed manual transmission, posi-traction (12 bolt rear end with 3:55 rear end gearing), shaded windshield, and rally wheels. Car does have power steering.
Engine - Matching #'s 325HP/396CID Chevy V8 with 4 barrel Q-jet carburetor. Engine wascompletely gone thru2,500 miles ago/mostly rebuilt- have receipt.
Transmission - 4-speed manual with Muncie floor shift.
Interior - all original like new with vinyl bench seat.
Body- All steel, all original panels. Data code 68-13837. The car was repainted as a Texas car with a show quality refinish - data code GG-Ash Gold body color and black pin-striping.
Chrome is good. There is a spot on the front bumper- pictured in one of the pics. Front tires are Radial GTs P205/70R14s. Rears are Modifier 60s P245/60R14. Wheels are Chevrolet rally with cap and trim rings. Mileage is 83,887. New thermostat, new heater core, and new heater hoses. Custom Autosound stereo system with cassette player. Non-mounted Jensen audio car-box speakers in the rear. Vehicle is also equipped with new Monroe Max-air shocks in rear. I usually put about 105 lbs. in them, which seems to last only for about aday (long enough for the day's car show). They are rated for 150psi. Car hashad a new Muncie shifterand shifter handle backing plate installed. Shifter ball is still the original. New headlamp knob. New pico bulb socketand bulb installed for the temperaturecontrols.Rear quarter panels are the originals. Floor pans and trunk pan are the originals and very solid- have never seen any holes. The under-carriagehas never been detailed. Some of the paint is peeling underneath and some surface rust, but is solid and all original.There was a small scratch on the driver's fender- about 3/8 of an inch. Also,about a 1 inch scratch on the driver's rocker. Touch-up paint has been applied to both of those. There is a small imperfection in the paint on the hood as pictured. There is also some light bubbling on the driver's rear quarter- as pictured.
I have done my best to represent this car as accurately as possible. The car is 48 years old. It is not a new car.
