Remember the Road Warrior? The moments when his back was against the wall and he could always rely on his ever reliable supercharger! The roar of the exhaust, the distinct sound of the turbo spooling, wining, whistling, and then BOOM! Like lightning striking, Max was thrusted in to his seat and carried quickly from danger. Yes, that is where my fascination for automobiles began. Mad Max always got my blood pumping and it all began with that supercharger forcing air in to an already hostile rumble of the exhaust. This Truck, it is like living that moment over but on a much grander scale. The sound of this Pickup is absolutely surreal. The larger ceramic coated exhaust system acts as a bullhorn for the motor and Turbo. The sound of the spool, the earth pounding feel of the exhaust, and that sudden gush of air that sounds like a hurricane pushing through homes. It is something you have to hear & feel in person in order to fully appreciate it.
We picked up this Truck on a farm in Iowa just a little over a year ago. It was used for chasing parts to keep the farm equipment up. It is a solid 100% (minus the tail gate) original sheet metal Pickup. It was completely solid with the exception of one small area which we found after it was completely tore down and soda blasted (please see photos). We had quite the debate about keeping it but once all was settled, we felt keeping it really represented the originality of the Truck as well as how solid it was to begin with. The tailgate was purchased brand new and we intentionally put the bullet holes in it. Today, it has been built in to one of the most eye grabbing 5 Windows you'll find. Here is a detailed list of what was done:
Four wheel disc brakes
8.8 Ford Posi trac rear end with 31 spline axles
New Air ride - Ride Tech - Ride Tech shocks
Classic Instrument gauges
Tilt column
All new painless wiring
New Turbo Charger
EFI with 60lb fuel injectors (Dytech)
2 1/2 inch exhaust with no muffler
Ceramic coated headers, all the piping
Stock frame rails were fully boxed with beefed up center section for a rigid frame
Mustang II front suspension
5.3 LS1
4l60 E 4 speed automatic transmission
Low car shifter
All new glass (one original corner glass)
New handles & hardware
Vintage AC, all tucked up under the dash, nice and neat
Early 90's Chevy bench seat (far more comfortable than the original)
All new brake lines & fuel lines
Diamond back classic redline tires
New 20's all the way around. 20x10's on the back and 20x8's on the front
Inner cooler on the Turbo all tucked away in the grill, hidden nicely
Every single thing works
The finishing work on this Truck is absolutely superb. The doors open and shut with ease, the body lines are better than when it came from the factory, the paint attracts EVERY person that sees it. No matter what you're in to, it is impossible not to take a double glance. The only negative thing I can say about this Chevy was the cost. The cost to build this Truck was phenomenal. Fortunately, this is not our first rodeo and our people handled it exceptionally well. The average person could have easily broke six figures by building this Truck. Minus break in time, it has had less than ten miles put on it since being completed. So it is fresh and ready to be enjoyed.
Please feel free to share this listing with anyone you know. Who knows, it could very well be someone's dream toy. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the Chevy early as I do have it for sale "locally". I do have a clean & clear title (no liens, non salvage, etc.) for the Chevy. Once the reserve has been met or a Buy It Now is agreed upon, I will gladly organize and pay to have it shipped to your door and or any port within the United States (excluding Alaska & Hawaii). I do this at no additional cost. Good luck and happy bidding!
Thanks,
