BARN FIND! 1939 MASTER 85 COUPE PICKUP very rare 1 of 1,264 (original El Camino!
Description
This was a friend of mines car who has passed. We know a little but have a lot of questions ourselves. They only made 1,264 of these cars.It is a clean AR titled 1939 car that has a modern motor upgrade in it and AC added. The body appears all original with some paint cracks and rust spots beginning to show but not cancerous. Starts and runs and drives but has been in storage for almost 20 years. Will need some TLC but from all research is a very rare car. Has original trunk lid and truck box included. 6 cylinder Blue GM motor starts and runs with no major leaks visible on pavement. Starting the bid at $8,500 but not finding an others anywhere out there for sale makes it hard to know what to expect. I just would like to request that whoever buys it will show it the love it deserves because 2 great men owned it and loved it for many many of its previous years. Even in its current condition it gets so many admirers. Everything from "I didn't know they made an El Camino in the 30's" to "I have never in all my years seen that option on any car" It apprears that a lot of work was done on it in the 80's as it still has some touring plaques and info included from that period and the interior carpet is definitely from that period :) Appears to be original frame underneath with motor mounts bolted in for engine, trans, and reared replacement.
Mileage shows 31k miles but not sure how accurate or how many times it has rolled over. Vehicle is sold "As-Is" with no warranties due to lack of knowledge on the car,I will try an answer any serious questions with the best of my ability. Happy bidding. Storing it at our local Chevy dealership for safe keeping.
