1935 Chevrolet pick up. Original engine , runs good
Description
Well I bought this to turn into a rat rod. I was looking for as complete as a vehicle as I could find but now I just can't see cutting it apart. I turn 70 this year and don't see me doing that much work anymore, so just going to buy something done. The story goes that it was a ranch vehicle in Colorado since new. The gentleman I bought it from had purchased it quite a few years ago as a fun parade car and had won "best original" in several local car shows. ;He was getting a ford AA truck to play with. This is about as original as you can get. All new cloth covered wiring was installed and fuel system updated. Seat recovered but think the frame may be from another year, it is not a split bench. Tires are Montgomery Wards with good tread but showing weather cracks. Hold air great and not unsafe for local low speed driving (40 to 45 is where it is comfortable.)The truck is a blast to drive. Brakes, steering, etc work great. No smoke, leaks or rod noise in engine.A couple of small rust spots on lower right side of cab and one bed stake pocket. Some wood has been replaced and eventually others may warrant replacing.;All glass good. All gauges and speedo work except gas gauge. Aftermarket water temp gauge installed. Wiper does not work. So how to describe an 81 year old running and driving truck. I hope the pictures are enough. Truck is a blast to drive. It rattles and shakes but feels safe, brakes are great.;Windows work good and doors shut ok with a little slam and help. Front vent works. Horn works. Spare is shot but always kept on truck to show where they shot it on a coyote hunt, so the story goes. Engine starts right up, no smoke,no leaks. Engine serial number shows to be a 1935 so assume original, a little rattley but no rod noise, just old.. Previous owner stated miles original at 50,000 but state won't guarantee it on title. All fenders and tailgat have been dented and used and pounded back out over the years. Some 40 year old primer shows up in a few areas. Original paint is dark green and black fenders. Title is free and clear and in my name. Serial number matches. Needs nothing to just have a good time with and if you so choose to upgrade some areas as needed in the future if you desire. Can store for a few months,no charge. Please call me,Tom, at 303-243-0180 if you are serious .
