1964 Chevy G10 no door van barnfind survivior custom g20 a100 econoline shorty
Description
1964 chevy g10 van coming out of Wichita Falls, Texas. This van was previous used as a pizza van and daily commuter (rumored story's of other good times too) until falling into a 34 year slumber after the owners injury in 1984. The van was parking on blocks in storage never to be touched again until this week. This is a true survivor and I'd venture to say barn find.
Likely one of the most complete g10 shorty ( 90 inch wheelbase) vans to come to market in a while. Complete with original parts such and the radio and antenna, ashtray, shifter knob, door armrests with ashtrays, gas tank and passenger jump seat. These features were typically tossed, lost, or pillaged out of junk yards early on. Add that this is a "no door" (no side doors punched by the factory) van with a lack of rust anywhere, and something that's mostly unheard of. Don't miss the opportunity to own this time capsule, as we are not likely to see another of this caliber.
The rundown: New battery, and the motor starts and runs (gas poured into carb). Carb is new, installed in 1984. Note the air cleaner; it's new and never run. Unfortunately, we only ran it for a little bit as the radiator and gas tank were drained back 34 years ago. Both look to be in outstanding condition, however, would recommend a flush and inspection at your local radiator shop. Additionally, all electronics work. Headlines (high and low), horn, both turn signals, fan high and low speed, as well as all dash lights. Transmission feels tight like it should (three on the tree) and shifts with no binding.
Couple of things that need to be noted. At one time there was a CB antenna installed on the roof of this vehicle so there is ( as pictured) a .25 inch hole drilled into the roof. CB antenna will be included. This small issue should be an easy fix for any novice body man. Also, there are currently no brakes as the master cylinder is empty. I would have this checked by a qualified brake shop. While the master cylinder seems to be clean and functional, I have not looked at the slave cylinders.
Please see all the pictures and feel free to call or text me with any questions. I'm happy to answer and take more pics if needed. Jeff 972-786-4031
Clear title included as well as Fenton Style wheels with new (1984) Armstrong bias-ply tires which were originally on the van
