You are bidding on my 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air project car. This was my project car that I began work on to restore and locate all of the nice new parts necessary to make it a great restored vehicle. Unfortunately, my medical condition is such that I have had to come to the realization that I cannot complete the build….so, it is with great reluctance that I put the car up for auction.
I have all of the paperwork from the original purchase of the car as it was a one owner, prior to my getting it out of the estate sale. I have clear title to the car.
The car is complete and all of the parts that have been removed have been kept and marked. The small pieces & parts were placed in zip lock bags and labeled. Additionally, over time I have accumulated many, if not most of the items necessary to restore the vehicle. The car is solid as it was stored in a garage from the time it was “retired” until I got it out of the estate. The car has 68,675 original miles on the speedometer. There are two spots of damage: (1) is the lower portion of the rear passenger door that will need some body work or I have acquired a “donor” door if you were to elect to just replace the door; (2) the lower portion of the passenger side rear quarter panel will need some body work. I have a complete set of stainless trim for the car plus several extra pieces that will be included.
I completely restored the front suspension with new bushings, new ball joints, all new brake master cylinders & shoes in front and rear brakes. As you can see from the pictures I hand sanded the front frame area and painted it with POR paint from Eastwood. Additionally, I purchased and installed the new modified rear shock crossmember frame (goes in between the frame rails) to support the rear shocks so they will not crack the sheet metal in the rear trunk area.
All sheet metal that was removed from the front clip, to include the hood, are in excellent shape and are all stored safely so as to not be damaged. The car did not originally have a radio so I have purchased a couple of old original radios that are the tube type radios and a donor right front fender with the antenna hole in case I decided to go ahead and install a radio. The hood bird has been re-chromed and is packed away for safe storage.
The rear and all side glass is in perfect condition. The windshield has a couple of rock chips but is not cracked and would be quite satisfactory to use in its current condition.
You can see from the pictures the condition of the vehicle to include the trunk area even has the original jack and jacking instructions still in place. I have the original wheels and tires, to include the spare as can be seen in the pictures. Additionally, I have 4 spare wheels for the car.
The following is a brief listing of some of the points that might be of interest to prospective buyers:
There so much to tell about the car but I will stop at this point and will be happy to answer any questions or supply additional pictures of any specific area(s) as requested.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!!!!
