Description
I have owned this truck since 1997, I bought it from the second owner and have the original pink slip issued in 1955 from the state of California. The truck has been modified as follows: The frame was cut to use the front half of a 1975 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup frame to give power steering and brakes. The rear suspension has been modified with a 1985 Corvette, 2:82, post rear end. The body has been modified to remove all emblems and badges, the bed has been replaced with a 1995 Chevy pickup bed that has been modified to remove the rear steps and lower the front steps to replicate the original 1955 step side bed. The dash has been upgraded to use Auto Meter gauges, a Sony AM/FM CD player, and air conditioning vents for the Vintage Air unit. The engine and transmission were new in 2003 using a 4.8 liter, supercharged engine and a 4l60E trans, all being run with a 1997 Camaro/Firebird computer using a Painless wiring harness. During 2013 the truck was disassembled to facilitate repainting and at that time the cab, doors, hood and front fenders were taken down to bare metal, any body work needed done then repainted with Dupont Chroma One paint. The bed was sanded and repainted also, but did not have all paint removed. During the latest rebuild I replaced the radiator, electric fan, battery, windshield, tires, interior; including new upholstery, carpets and mats, most of the door seals and window moldings. The grill, radiator support, inner fenders and headlight doors were powder coated with satin black coating. The front suspension received new springs and shocks and the rear got new shocks. This truck is not built for show, but as a daily driver that I have used almost every day since I finished the build. The paint has several small scratches and one large (approximately 3 inches) on the passenger side, rear fender; there is one 1" dent below the passenger side door handle, (some SOB did that at my business and never owned up to it, G-R-R-R-R!). The Rhino lining in the bed is completely intact but shows the effects of 14 years of being parked outside as it is not as black as when it was first installed. During the last rebuild, I dropped the passenger side taillight lens and broke off one corner, you can see the repair in one picture. There is a hidden trailer hitch and the dropout stows under the truck. I've not towed too much with it, but it tows a motorcycle trailer well. I will be glad to answer any questions or send any pictures or videos requested, contact me at Kanshome1@aol.com. Keep the B.S. to a minimum, please. If the auction is successful, the truck will only be released upon receipt and verification of full payment. There is no warranty offered nor implied, but (knock on wood) the truck has been extremely reliable for the past 13 years.
