1970 Chevelle SS ProStreet race big block 502 ZZ502 Crate engine
Description
Up for sale is my 1970 Chevelle SS. This is a true SS car that has been back-halved with a ladder-bar setup. I have owned this car for nearly 20 years. The car stays in the garage and has never been driven in the rain. This car has never been raced or abused in any way. I have only driven it to several rod runs and car shows. This car is very dependable and fun to drive with no issues at all.
The car has a new ZZ502 crate engine with 502 H.P. with less than 1000 miles on the vehicle. The crate engine comes complete from oil pan to carb. and has a 850 Holley. It has long-tube Hooker Headers with DynaMax muffler dumped in front of the rear tires. The radiator is an aluminum Griffin. The transmission is a Turbo 400 with a Hurst Pro-Matic II shifter. The rear-end is a narrowed Chrysler 8 3/4 with a spooled 4.86 gear ratio. Brakes are stock disc up front and drum in the rear. The suspension is stock up front with a ladder-bar setup in the rear with adjustable coil-overs. The tires are Mickey Thompson 31x18.50x15 in the rear and Matching tires for the front. The wheels are Weld Racing Rodlites.
The interior is equipped with 2 racing bucket seats with 5-point harnesses. New carpet, headliner, door panels, AutoMeter gauges, monster tach and a shift light. The interior has been fully finished in the rear as well for a complete look. The vehicle has a complete 6-point roll cage installed.
The body features a smooth firewall and a molded in spoiler to the deck lid. This was metal finish-molded and not fiberglassed. The hoodis a 4" cowl induction lift-off. The body and roll-cage have been finished in purple. There are custom stripe on the lower portion of the vehicle. The paint and body are flawless with the exception of spot on the left lower fender (pictured). The paint on the lower portion crackedwhen it was installed and was minimal so we didn't redo it but has gotten worse over the years but should be an easy fix.
The vehicle has a fuel cell and a new AC Delco battery. There is a battery disconnect switch in the rear body panel. The ignition system runs from a MSD AL6. Has an electric Holley fuel pump.
