Up for bid, reluctantly, is my 1974 Corvette Stingray 4 speed – professionally restored, upgraded, and street tuned...350 cu.in., pwr steering, pwr brakes, pwr windows, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, & new AC.
A complete drivetrain, brakes, suspension and steering system reconstruction 1,000 miles ago has produced a very solid, safe, head-turning classic that is a blast to drive and sounds great, too.Mechanical, electrical, comfort and safety related parts were replaced with new or rebuilt if they didn’t pass inspection with flying colors.Where dependability could be increased, more modern parts replaced the original – such as the new MSD electronic ignition system.
Crowning the new Jasper 350 cu.in. engine is a new Edelbrock Performer manifold & new Edelbrock 4 bbl carburetor. With the long pipe headers, the mechanic’s estimate for this setup is conservatively ~290 hp. There’s no Dyno data - the estimate was good enough for me. The staggered BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s on American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels provide a slight rake to this Vette’s stance, and the T-10 four-spd manual with new Hurst shifter can get them spinning in a hurry.
Most of the 1k miles on the odometer are the result of driving back and forth to VettExperts in Pompano Beach, FL, who did the frame-on restoration in two stages, along with their street tuning when complete.I have all restoration documentation - a few pictures are posted here.
Hagerty’s current valuation guide puts this Corvette north of $28,000, if you conservatively rate it only slightly better than “Good.” I think the pictures in this listing and the details below easily support at least that. But my reserve is well below Hagerty's number. This is an opportunity for someone to get one heck of a deal.
