Description

Up for PRIVATE SALE is a beautiful Blue and White 1970 Chevrolet C20, long wheel base, 2 wheel drive truck with 133,960 miles. This is a California truck and it shows!
I have had this truck for nearly 5 years. I have used it as a truck for my household projects (hauling lumber, gravel, etc.). Although it isn't a trailer queen, it is a beautiful truck that gets lots of looks and compliments. There just isn't much better than cruising down the 101 here in Southern California in a classic vehicle. We are "car people" and do like to take care of our vehicles. This truck is no different. Here is a run down of what the truck has...
  • 350 Chevrolet Small Block Engine
  • 3-Speed Automatic Transmission
  • Wilwood Brake Controller
  • MSD Ignition
  • Edlebrock Carb
  • Edlebrock Aluminum Intake
  • Chrome Breathers
  • Chrome Chevy Bowtie Valve Covers
  • Chrome front and rear bumpers
  • Near new 10-ply tires (should last a long time)
  • Royal Purple oil changes most of the time (with rare exception)
  • New Power Steering Pump (less than 500 miles since install)
  • New Fuel Pump (less than 500 miles since install)
  • Decent Sony Explode CD Player and Speakers - Good sound without all the extra wires, etc.
  • Upgraded Wood Steering Wheel
  • Fabric Bench Seat
  • Original (reproductions) of Owner's Manual, Advertisement Booklet, and Shop Manual.
  • Dual exhaust (forget the brand, but have a great exhaust note)
  • Originally an A/C truck *RARE*. Most components are there, but I have never tried to restore the A/C. Non-op.
  • Aluminum Wheels
  • Sliding Rear Window
  • Protective Bed Mat

For being nearly 50 years old (yes, 50) the truck is in exceptional running condition. Rust is minimal, effecting only the usual areas; a little in the rain gutters and some in the bed. However, none of it is bad. If I were to keep the truck, I would probably look to have it fixed in the next couple of years, but it isn't any issue...and we are picky. You could easily just keep on trucking. Up to you. I posted a couple of pics to ensure you see what I am talking about. It is a truck, so there are small scratches, etc. (mainly on the inside of the tail gate).
The truck starts up every time...much more dependable than it's modern stable mates. It could be a daily driver if you don't mind the gas mileage...which I would estimate to be in the single digits to low double digits (think 11-12). However, it could be tuned to get better mileage and less performance. I have it in the middle right now...some performance but reasonable to drive.
The truck has not been lowered or butchered up like a lot of them are. It is a traditional long bed truck, ready to haul loads, and look (and sound) good doing it. It is priced at a value for what you are receiving. Similar trucks are priced much higher, and pristine trailer queens can go for $30K on up.
Parts for the truck are abundant and inexpensive. A good example is a comparison between the fuel pump for the truck and a fuel pump for my Porsche 911. The Porsche fuel pump was $900 for the part. The truck's fuel pump was $17. Parts are everywhere...old new stock, new reproduction parts, and used parts. There is nothing on the truck that is expensive.
Whether you are a seasoned buyer, or first-time owner of a classic, this truck is a good buy. If you are looking for a truck to do a full restoration, this would be a good candidate, as it has an overall clean body, runs well, and has all of the trim pieces. However, it is perfect to drive just the way it is.
I have a clean title in my name for the truck.
