This is a 1966 Monza convertible equipped with a working factory power top, a 1968 110hp engine, and a 3 speed manual transmission. The engine runs well, transmission is smooth, and the brakes stop well. I just replaced the clutch disc, bell housing and rear main seal, input shaft seal, throw out bearing, input shaft bushing, and reverse light switch. A new oil pan gasket and oil is included for the new owner. The engine and transmission are currently sitting on a dolly, ready for installation. The dash was switched with the engine so the odometer matches the engine, not the car (I am including the original 66 dash and engine, though). All hardware will be included, along with the battery (removed for cleaning) and other miscellaneous components.
The car is structurally sound- the body does not sag with the doors open and top down. The floors were replaced years ago with flat steel and self-tapping screws. The rocker-channels are very solid. It was re-sprayed years ago in a brighter red than original- it was originally Meridian Maroon with a black interior. There is a small crack in the factory lead near the corner of the windshield- it's not structural but something that could be fixed with a new patch panel. The door hinges could use replacing, as many of these cars do need. The dent on the drivers door is due to an incident with a previous owner's vehicle.
The door panels are clean and the rear seat is very clean. The front bench has been replaced with a pair of very comfortable leather Volvo S40 seats. Original GM 68-69 seat belts are installed in the front. The top is in good, useable condition with only one tiny hole on the passenger side seam that can be easily patched or stitched. As pictured, the rear window is cracked and can either be left as is, or replaced pretty cheaply ($120). The power top mechanism is in working condition with a new switch recently hooked up to make it operable.
I just installed a set of brand new 185/70r14 tires and they were balanced with sticky weights.
The car will also include a pile of parts including throttle linkages, solid decklid, coupe vent panel, extra heater tube, GM coupe front bench seat, 5 stock 13's with 2 correct 66 monza hub caps and 2 65 monza hub caps, original 66 dash, original 95hp engine ready for a rebuild, and other miscellaneous parts. Please note: this car will need to be towed. As stated above, the engine and transmission are currently on a dolly and there are lots of parts included.
