1LE 5 Speed 1991 Camaro
Description
I'll start with the most important and significant aspect of this car. We know that there were 478 1LE's built in 1991. Estimates indicate that about 60% were 5.0 liter motors with 5 speed manual T5 transmission. I believe that bright rally red was the most common color but I've seen them in dark red, white, black and even blue. I'm only guessing here, but I'd bet of the approx 286 5.0/T5 cars there were less than 100 Bright Rally Red 1LE's with 5.0 and T5 transmissions. So it's a rare car. Enough on that.
I bought the car about 1 year ago with the intent of keeping it a very long time due to its rarity and condition. But as you car guys know, opportunities come along all the time and I have a good one. So I have 3 Camaros for sale. I need to sell two of them only. They are all listed here on Ebay with the same opening bid. The first two that get bids get sold and the 3rd auction gets cancelled. So don't wait til the last minute to bid because the one you want could get yanked. Also note that I have already had a high bidder not pay and I am not interested in simply reporting non payers to Ebay. I will pursue legal action for damages if you bid and fail to pay. It's a binding contract. So please don't bid if you are not certain you can or will pay. Sorry for all that. Now to the car itself.
I bought the car from a fella who didn't know a whole lot about it. His story was that he bought it from a mechanic in SF who had obtained it on a lien and that guy had done a lot to bring it back to its original state. When I got the car it needed a small amount of body work, a small amount of interior work and the engine would not stay running. The guy I bought it from put in a new computer and some other money spent and it still didn't run right for him. I knew within 2 minutes what the problem was and I bought it from him. I immediately swapped out the crap Multec injectors for Bosch injectors and its run like a dog on fire ever since.

I think the photos and video should give you a solid idea of the condition of the car. I currently have 6 third gen camaros and I've owned at least 30 of them. The only other one I've had that is in better condition is an 87 that I spent 5 years restoring. This is the 2nd best third gen I've ever had and its not been restored. It's just been very well maintained over the years. No single system on this car is perfect. But every single thing about it I would rate in the high 90's on a scale of 100. The interior is super but not perfect, the engine runs incredibly well, the paint is fantastic but not perfect. There are zero squeaks or rattles driving it. It drives laser straight and solid as any I've ever been in. But it is not a museum quality car. There have been 1LE's for sale here on Ebay for well over $20k and those are museum quality cars. This one is possibly the best non museum quality you'll find, especially at this price.
For those or you that want pix of the SPID and VIN tag to make sure that its a real 1LE I will send those to you but since I only get 24 photos in this listing I wanted to use the photos I have used.
Some people call these 1LE's the COPO's of the 80's/90's. I wouldn't go that far but these are great investments. I wish I could keep it. But opportunity calls. All questions are welcome. I want you to know 100% what this car is and isn't. I don't want it going to the wrong person or to someone who will get buyers remorse.
