The 1941-1946 Chevrolet pick up truck is known as “The Art Deco Series” The grille, front bumper and streamlined fenders were a drastic change from the trucks of the 1920s and 1930s. The most pronounced design feature was the massive two-piece grille. The massive chrome grille had four horizontal chrome slats above and 17 vertical sloping grille bars below.

World War Two halted production of these trucks for civilian use from 1942 until August of 1945. The look of the 1941-45 truck is the same because no new sheet metal or newly designed parts were produced until 1947 when a new design also known as “The Advance Design” Chevrolet Truck was introduced.

This truck rolled off the Janesville, Wisconsin GM assembly line in December of 1946. The model is a Series 3100 ½ ton truck.

This is one of the finest 1946 ½ ton restorations in existence. The restoration process took over four years with over $55,000 invested (invoices available). This was a complete frame off restoration. A cd is available with over 250 pictures recording every step of the restoration process.

This truck is all steel with the exception of the running boards. The paint and body are flawless. All chrome was triple plated and is show quality. The work was done by Advanced Plating in Nashville, TN.

The bed is solid oak and is both stained and varnished.
