Description

1953 Chevrolet Panel Truck
Freshly Picked off a farm in Jamestown, CA!!!! Always a California Truck!!
I'm selling this Very well preserved 1953 Chevy Panel Truck. This truck has a unique story. It originally belonged to "Caselli and Sons Electricians" in Sacramento, California. It was bought in the 80's by a pilot in Tuolumne County. He stripped it down to bare metal and started doing minor body work, but unfortunately died in a plane crash before he could finish it. It was inherited by his son who let it sit in a garage since 1985, it had just enough moisture in the garage to cause minor surface rust on the exposed metal, but didn't hurt the interior. There is literally only one visible rust hole underneath the passenger rear door in the jam.
The panels and parts are in such great shape. I buy a lot of cars and trucks and it's very rare to find a truck in this good of condition. Every corner where you think there should be rust is very solid (shown in photos)
It is a very complete Truck. The original wood bed is still in tact, you can tell it's never been taken out of the truck or had any of the panels replaced. The interior still has the original gray paint with great patina. Very usable
The original drivers seat is still there but there's no passenger seat, I'm not sure there ever was one. There's a couple holes but not in the stock location for the tilt seat.
The engine fired up and ran after a little work but there's no gas tank so we couldn't drive and test the running gear. I would assume it works fine. It does have a newer glass bottom fuel pump and comes with an extra brand new fuel pump from LMC Truck
The front and back glass panels are in usable shape
Again the only actual rust hole thats visible, besides surface rust, is the one under the back doors. I put a picture up of a brass key next to it to show the size which is about 2-3 inches
This Truck would make a really great Hot Rod, Restoration, or Rat Rod for someone to restore. Kindigit did the Suburban and turned it into a Unibody Pickup that was really cool. If i was keeping this I'd do the same idea.
It's got really great bones. super solid truck, i know its very rare to find them in this condition. I just have too many projects right now to even think about doing it myself. Good luck bidding, Thanks
