My 1959 Chrysler Windsor

This Car is a survivor

The Forward Look (Research this term so you can appreciate this amazing part of history)

I should start by saying that if you are looking for a “Pajama party” you my friend, should keep looking. If you are looking for a short description of to the beast before you, I can offer you two words “MEAT & POTATOES”. This is the All American chariot of the free world.

You are not dealing with any ordinary, cookie cutter Chrysler son. This thing was forged from a single block of all American Tungsten Steel. Real sturdy! From that day forward my life has never been the same.

So if you are looking for asunflower seedburning hatch back, a solar powered-mobile, or even a Hyundai crossover keep on looking my friend, this thing is a piece of red white and blue Americana Machinery.

This baby’s pulse is pumping383 cubic inchesof uncensored raw fuel through her V8 nuclear power plant.

The Good:

  • Runs, Drives, Shifts, and Brakes good
  • Strong original 383 "Lion-Hearted " engine and automatic torqueflite transmission
  • Chrysler power steering makes parallel parking a pleasure
  • Clear/Clean Title in my name, current registration and insurance (no surprises here folks)
  • Original generator works
  • Dual barrel carburetor
  • Original door panels and dash
  • Fuel, generator, temperature, and oil pressure gauges all work and are accurate
  • Original push button transmission gear selector works
  • Tires are only a couple of years old and have plenty of tread left
  • Original dash mounted rear view mirror preserves "The Forward Look"
  • Factory cable adjustable drivers mirror
  • Original horns work (they are loud, just your wait till you hear them)
  • Special option order on car: factory automatic windshield cleaner
  • All Lights work on car (by this I mean that all of the lights actually work, all of them)
  • Heater works very well
  • Vacuum operated heating and ventilation controls work flawlessly
  • Lots of leg and head room (your hat won't even hit the roof)
  • Original safety glass (no cracks or nicks)
  • Adjustable front seat
  • Ash trays with working cigarette lighters
  • Original Chrysler Corporation keys
  • Towering Fins, the epitome of 1950's styling
  • Very fewother cars will be able to match the rarity and uniqueness of this Chrysler
  • Less than 4,000 made, very few of which are on the road today
  • Largesupply of NOS and aftermarket parts (justgive Ebay a search and you will see)
  • Chrysler parts of the era are often interchangeable (i.e. Dodge, Plymouth, Desoto, and Imperial parts can fit on this car)
  • Had the original VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (the listed one is a dummy)
  • Older paint job that has held up for the most part
  • New brakes and wheel cylinders

The Bad:

  • The clock and radio are not working at this time
  • Automatic windshield cleaner is not working at this time
  • Original cardboard glove box interior is showing its age
  • Speedometer and Odometer are not working at this time (needs a new drive gear)
  • In the last picture there is some damage. In the picture you will see damage to the right side wheel skirt and some damage to the body itself. The white substance that has been exposed is body filler. It measures about 1 inch across at its widest point. Some good news is that I did not find body filler anywhere else on the car.

The Ugly:

  • There are two small holes in the front seat (pictured)
  • The car has some surface rust (on the top, also along the tops of the fins, and a few small places on the hood and fenders)
  • Steering wheel has cracks (see picture)
  • Steering wheel is a little unaligned, it was notcompletely straight when it was put back on
  • Missing one small piece of stainless trim on the rear window on the left side

"Chrysler's got the ride you want, Chrysler's got the room you need, Chrysler's got the style you can be proud of" -Original tag line from 1959
