1992 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL (not running)
Description
This 1992 Chrysler Imperial is NOT RUNNING.The engine blew a rod through the side of the crankcase."Other than that"... the car was working just fine.No problems with the quirky 4 speed transmission; the dreadedanti-lock brake unit had been replaced. This was an "everyday car", so I also replaced the the alternator, water pump, radiator, struts, shocks, thermostat, hoses, starter, belt tensioner, tires. A/C worked (works?)w/ original R-12; car also has all original stainless steel exhaust. Everything worked, all gauges work.
It only has 92,000 miles. Why did the engine blow? I have no idea. It wasn't low on oil. Oil pressure was good. In fact, I only use Mobil 1 oil. Never overheated.
The body has some dings (see pic of rht. frt. fender, near cornering light). Some of the Clear Coat paint is chipping away. The top of the dashboard (at windshield) is separating (usually happens when heater core is replaced). No rust on any of the body panels, but there is a rust hole on undercarriage (just in front of rear wheels at the designated "jack" placement point.
Includes owners manual, original keysand "McGuard Key" for wheels.
I've owned 4 of these '90-'93 Imperials, so I do know a few things about them. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Happy Bidding!Ray
