One owner from a real BARN!
Description
Up for auction is a real barn find 1965 Chrysler Imperial sedan (barn is not included!). That's right, this car was stored away in a 110 year old barn in California by its original owner and has been tucked away for nearly 20 years. Starting pictures are of how it looked in the barn and how it is with just a simple wash job. Pretty impressive looking for a 1960's car. Farmer Silva really like this car and went to alof of great lengths to keep in as nice as he could, including a new paint job before and exhaust system before passing onto greener pastures back around 2000. This car looks really nice and the paint is pretty choice too. There are a few nicks an couple small dings on the passenger side front lower fender, but that's the worst of it. Straight body and not a single speck of rest we can find and we even had it up on a hoist. Good chrome all around, tinted glass and even the factory hubcaps look good. Front windshield has a small crack starting, but I have a parts car with a nicer windshield I will pull to go with this car. Interior is in great condition for its age, probably from being so nicely taken care of and being an indoor car it's whole life. Upholstery is the very rare and super popular Pearl White and is still soft to sit in, great for car cruises. Dash is nice and though the mileage on the speedo looks low, I assume it could have turned over. Nice dash erea with dashpad starting to show some age. All gauges and accessories work including the power wing Windows and air conditioning. Though not perfect, it is soo much better that most you see of the same era. Trunk erea is also super clean and still have the trunk boards still looking mint. the optional high performance 413-4 engine does make it move pretty fast. The transmission is the factory bevy duty automatic torque and it shifts well. Since this car hasnbeennsittingnfor 20 years, it will need some attention and has a couple problems. Engine though runs great, seems to have a kiss and is making a sound when revved up. Could be valve train, a bad lifter, worn piston, a bearing or something, just not sure what it is. These engines are simple to work on, so someone with more experience than me can probably figure it out. Right rear brake sticks, so you will probably have to adjust the brakes to make it good. This car has been sitting 20'years, but got it running and moving fine enough to get on a trailer. The great thing is that it in such great condition, your going to save a lot of money not having to do things like paint/body repair work, interior, electrical and stuff. I have the air cleaner, it was just off so I can show picture of the actual 413 engine. Also have hubcaps that go with the car. A quick and afordable father/son car project. Think how many weeks of won't you won't have to donor the amount you'll save. Have a clean title in hand and vin number has been verified.
