Description

Hello. Up for your consideration is a 1962 Chrysler Newport 4-door hardtop. The car runs and moves but is not drivesble. Currently needs a starter relay, front end and brake work, and is missing a left rear shock mounting nut and rear spring shackle nut. The body is in fair shape. Some rust in left rear lower quarter panel and what appears to be surface rust on the left rocker panel. There is some putty in the left front fender. Trunk and floods appear to be solid.

INTERIOR: No headliner but all the bows are there. Carpet is toast. Seats seat upholstery is in good shape and the seat springs are bouncy. Dash pad is in great shape. It has one of the coolest instruments clusters I have seen. The speedometer does not work. I believe it is the cable. Also the oil pressure gauge doesn’t work. I believe this is a sender; the aftermarket gauge does not work either. The other gauges all work. The transmission buttons air work as should. Turn signals and lights work.

ENGINE/TRANSMISSION: 361cid big block (b block). Push button Torqueflite 727 transmission. As stated above engine runs but needs a starter relay. It appears to have an OEM 4-barrel intake with a Holley carburetor of unknown vintage.

EXTRAS: Included with the car is a 2004 Crown Victoria front suspension and rear end. The intent was to swap in both for disc brakes and suspension parts availability. Also a new master cylinder with booster, Weiand intake and Edlebrock 625cfm AVS factory remanufactured carburetor, Pertronix electronic ignition conversion kit and coil, MOPAR Performance plug wires, Moroso fabricated valve covers and miscellaneous other items.

My current healt situation limits my ability to complete this project. My loss is someone’s gain. Would make a great lead sled or rat rod.

Note: For some reason some of the pictures make the car look blue. The correct color is closer to white as shown in the one photo.
