Description

1948 Chrysler Town & Country

This is an older survivor, that is a rust-free example of a well-preserved car. This was formally part of the well-known Don Sears collection in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a full classic with the CCCA.

Cosmetically, the Town & Country is exceptional. The Catalina Tan paint is in lovely condition with very few flaws. The fit and finish are nice, and the doors shut like they did when new.The original wood has never been repaired and is in good original condition. The glass appears factory, with no lamination. The chrome on the dash is unrestored and still holds up well. Exterior chrome has been re-plated to a high standard.

The interior has been well taken care of. The electronics work well, including the instruments, heater, wipers and clock. The black top (Top code #1) is still nice and the top mechanism works properly.

The engine is very strong with good performance and oil pressure. The fluid drive operates as it should. It has all new brakes, including the shoes, master and wheel cylinders, etc. A full tune-up including ignition wires, plugs, points, etc. was performed and a full service as well.

The chassis is free of rust and has not been restored or detailed. There are no patches or issues with this Woodie. The starter has been changed to a button on the dash. The original gas pedal starter components are still in the carburetor.

Well sorted and lovely car that has never been taken apart.Surprisingly rattle free and smooth driving at 60 mph.
