Description

1949 CHRYSLER ROYAL STATION WAGON WOODY ALL ORIGINAL. 89,000 ORIGINAL MILES. RUNS GREAT. TIRES ARE 10 YEARS OLD. ONLY 850 OF THESE MADE. THE FIRST PHOTOS WITH THE SURFBOARDS WERE TAKEN BEFORE I STRIPPED THE OLD VARNISH. I HAVE THE CORRECT VARNISH TO RESTORE THE WOOD. THE WOOD IS ALL ORIGINAL AND IN PERFECT CONDITION. PLEASE SEND ANY QUESTIONS. AVERAGE RETAIL FOR THIS CAR IS $100,000. THIS IS A TRUE SURVIVER. I PULLED THIS CAR OUT OF A GARAGE IN RIVERSIDE CALIF WHERE IT SAT FOR 35 YEARS. IT WAS UP ON A HILLSIDE PROPERTY SURROUNDED BY AN ORANGE GROVE AND I BELEIVE THE MOIST AREA HELPED PRESERVE TO WOOD. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR WE DID A COMPRESSION CHECK AND THE # 1 INTAKE VALVE WAS LEAKING. WE OWN A RESTAURANT IN PALM SPRINGS AND I WAS TALKING TO ONE OF MY CUSTOMERS AT THE BAR AND TOLD HIM ABOUT THE VALVE. HE TOLD ME HE WAS RAISED ON A FARM AND THEY USED THESE FLATHEAD SPITFIRE 6 CYLINDER MOTORS ON ALOT OF THE FARM EQUIPMENT. HE TOLD ME TO ORDER THE VALVE AND I PULLED THE HEAD AND THE VALVE COVER AND HE REPLACED THE BURNT VALVE. WE PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP. PRIOR TO THAT I HAD THE RADIATOR RECORD. I REPLACED THE WATER PUMP AND THE BELT. I ALSO REMOVED THE FUEL TANK AND HAD IT BOILED OUT. I INSTALLED A NEW FUEL PUMP. I HAD A LOCAL SHOP REPLACE THE SHOCKS AND THE BREAKS. I REPLACED THE MOTOR MOUNTS. ALL THE BASIC THINGS TO GET THE CAR RUNNUNIG AFTER SITTING FOR 35 YEARS WERE DONE. THE CAR IS REGISTERD AND INSURED AND I DROVE IT YESTERDAY. IT RUNS GREAT. THE LAST PHOTO IS OF US PULLING THE CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE WHERE IT SAT FOR 35 YEARS.
