1955 Citroen Traction Avant Slough-built RHD Project
Description
This 1955 Citroen Traction Avant is a rare Slough-built right-hand drive model. Not much is known of its history except that it was imported to the US from New Zealand. I registered it here in New York State when I got it just to make sure there were no issues with the DMV (there weren't), but I did not put it on the road. This is a project car. The last time it was registered and inspected was 2005, and has been sitting ever since. There has been no attempt to start it. It does not currently have a battery. It is otherwise complete as far as I can tell except for the trunk latch handle. The headlights and tail lights are not original. The interior has been redone. There is some denting in the rear right door & fender area (pictured). The door still opens and closes normally. The paint is in poor condition all over, but there is no rust. The floor is solid, as is the rest of the car, except for a touch of rot in the trunk liner just at the very back rear corners (pictured). The engine and drivetrain appear to be complete and in good condition. I am told that the cylinder liners are new. It willof course at a minimum need basic tune up parts andprobably a carb rebuild, etc. The brakes are all-new.Overall the car is a very good candidate for a full restoration. It is being offered as-is.
