GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this unique 1972 Citroen 2CV for your consideration. While early models came with a 373cc H2 cylinder that pumped out a breathtaking 9 hp, this model appears to have the 602cc H2 that produces about 29hp. It is mated to a unique "twist" style manual gear selector which controls a 4-speed manual. Finished in a gorgeous white paint, the car features intact glass and a joyful plaid interior. The selling owner notes that... the car was purchased out of Maryland where it had been legally imported from the Netherlands. Some of the cool features of this car included a full length sliding cloth sunroof, and glass windows, interior seats which are in great condition, and unique exterior door handles. The Citroen 2CV was a very revolutionary car for France. Conceived before WWII, the design was to provide the French people with a cheap car in the same image of the Ford Model T or VW Beetle. Using extremely simple and durable designs for a low cost, the 2CV was an ingenious design. The car was so inexpensive to purchase and operate and was capable on and off the road in the rough French countryside. It could seat four people and their luggage as well as reach a decent top speed. It was described as a world car like none other and over 9 million 2CVs and their variants were sold from 1948 to 1990. A masterpiece in minimalist engineering, these cars put millions of people on wheels and are well-loved around the world. Pick up a unique piece of history today!
