1980 Citroen 2CV
Description
I bought this car two years ago from a friend who was moving back to France. Seven years prior he had moved here to work at Sony studios and brought his 2CV along with him. He decided to sell his car here and buy another when he returned to France.I have several cars and bought this car with the thought of doing a total frame off restoration. But after driving the car around Los Angeles, I decided that this little car should remain original. Sure it has a few dings, the worse being the dent on the left front fender, and a little rust, but this car is great fun to drive, just how it is. When I drive it around, the top is never closed and when I park it, I don't even lock it. If I was to restore it, then I would be afraid to park it or lean on it or pile the towels and chairs in the back and go to the beach. In it's original form, it's the perfect little fun car.The only modification I did to the 2CV is electronic ignition. The points worked well, but the new ignition eliminates the worry. I replaced the fuel tank and all of the fuel lines. It came as a kit from France. I had a leak, but when I got the tank out, it was only a fuel line. I replaced all of the parts anyway. You can see by the picture that there are lots of spare parts that came with the car. Lights, lenses, alternator, seat rebuild kit, etc.I'm selling the 2CV because I'm out of room and I do not store my cars outside!I've had my fun, now it's time for someone else to play.
Almost forgot, I just put the correct Michelins on it, including the spare!
