Description

This 1982 Citroen 2CV was purchased in Palm Springs earlier this year for $15,305 on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141907573977, but due to space, we have to sell it.
This 32k kilometer (~20k mile) example wasimported some time ago and is titled as a 1955. Itis powered by a 602cc air-cooled twinmated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The car has required little work during our time with it, though it benefits from fresh fluids and newupholstery on the seat bottoms. This Citroen is sold with a clean California title. Thetwo-tone grey finish is similar to the factory Charleston cars, though the equipment is incorrect for a true Charleston. Lighting and other equipment is correct for an early 1980s-vintage 2CV. The later series used a much more rounded bonnet and smaller grille than early cars. The full-length roll back roof is intact and in good condition. The paintwork on the car is nice, though not perfect, and some of the defects and touchups are detailed in the photogallery.
Since acquiring the car, we reupholstered the seat bottoms to correct the looseness and tears seen in the previous listing. Some of the rubber seat bands remain broken. The rest of the interior equipment appears standard and shows limited wear consistent with the low mileage. The 32k kilometers shown are believed to be accurate. The ignition switch has been moved from the steering column to the dash and to the left of the simple Vegliainstrument panel.
The 602cc two-cylinder appears stock with no obvious modifications. This was the most powerful engine offered in the 2CV series, with 11 horsepower morethan thenext largest engine. The carburetor has recently been cleaned, and the exhaust is new. Freshfluids were added since purchased. The distinctive leading arm/trailing arm setup was unique to the 2CV, and the system was linked fore and aft. The setup is compact, and kept unsprung weight to a minimum. There is light expected surface oxidation present on the underside, though no corrosion or holesare noted. VIN is 150Z8402.
This car is a solid driver with no mechanical or functional issues and would be a great base to drive and enjoy or tinker only lightly for a very nice car.
My standard disclaimer/mantra for any car regardless of service or price: The car is sold with a remainder of a factory warranty and NO implied warranty from the seller. You are buying a used car. Eventually every car will break, if you find one that doesn't please let me know. I do my ABSOLUTE BEST to offer only cars that are of TOP NOTCH service. I am not a dealer, just a guy who loves Citroen (among other cars) and hope to pass along my passion and fervor for these cars. That said if ever you encounter an issue I do my best to provide advice, direction or even parts if I have them. Please understand that it is a used car and will have minor signs of use. That means please do not expect a showroom brand new car. Please adjust your expectation level to that of a 20,000 mile car, but however is above average for it's year/miles. This is good miles for any 2CV of this year, but please just remember that no 20,000 mile car is perfect. It is though a clean, very nice 2CV! Please only bid if you intend to buy. If you would like to have an Ebay 3rd party mechanic service check out the car I MORE than welcome it. Please have the car checked out before bidding and not after, if you intend to use that service. And please, if you would like to utilize this service, contact me with more than a couple days left in the ad so we can arrange schedules. Please check your local laws and registration procedures before buying. Buying over the internet can be scary sometimes! I get it, because I am an enthusiast too!! For that very reason, I am more than happy to answer every and any question you may so you know 100% what you are buying. But, please ask any and all questions ahead of purchase! It is impossible to list every pro and con on a car, I am not an inspection service. All sales are final, you are buying as-is, the sky is blue, etc, etc. Sorry to have to give the boring speech.
