This is a superb original 1971, 1 Owner, Low Mile, Low Vin, Series 1 240Z in excellent condition all around!! This original southern California car has been loved and meticulously maintained by a single enthusiast owner and it shows!! Looks runs and drives fantastic! This car was purchased from the dealer with every option available at the time including AC and the SUPER RARE Webastos sliding sunroof!! The car is unmolested and retains its matching numbers drivetrain, original panels, underhood period correct features, etc. This is an investment grade Z. I purchased a few years ago and it has been in climate controlled storage for the past 2... I am stacked with restoration projects currently so I am offering it for sale one time as-is... if it does not sell I will paint it do some minor details and raise the price substantially... This is an OPPORTUNITY!! This little Z would be an awesome weekend cruiser, daily driver, or addition to any collection.
The body is straight with no collision damage that I can see. It is Rust free with the exception of some minor bubbling in the passenger lower fender and a bit of bubbling in the hatch sill corners. Car received a nice driver quality Re-Paint in correct Datsun 903 Dark Blue some time in the past... it presents beautifully with some minor blemishes... It's fine for a driver but you will want to repaint for a show car. Frame, floors, and chassis are super solid! Doors close tight and windows work nice. Period correct dealer option slotted mag rims and near new tires. Get's tons of looks and compliments everywhere we roll.
The interior is fabulous as well... panels, carpet, and seats have all been redone and look great... dash is cracked under the full face cover. Gauges, lights, and electronics all work properly except the clock of course. I have the original radio for it. AC blows cold!! This has an extremely rare and collectable Webastos Sliding sunroof as was used offered the Porsches and VW's of the era... This was a SoCal only dealer option installed with factory authorization by American Sunroof Company... Very collectable feature. The canvas shows some ware and I have not attempted to open it. I'm going to try and have my upholstery guy look at this week.
L24 motor starts idles and runs fantastic... tuned perfectly! The car has great power... 4- speed Trans shifts smooth and strong through the gears!! Suspension feels tight and provides excellent ride and brakes stop straight and sure. Strong, powerful, and reliable... freshly serviced and tuned... ready to roll.... definite daily driver capable.
Overall this is a really cool Classic Z in great condition all around. I am a Z collector. This one makes a great investment and/or Awesome Weekend Cruiser, daily driver, or whatever you like. Great for any enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool and unique Vintage sports car at a great price.
